The Marlins traded an awesome, incredibly affordable player for Brinson. If the Marlins hadn't gotten a player of his caliber in return, there would be riots at the ballpark if the team actually had fans.

I stand by my point. Requesting a trade isn't a thing because the teams don't have to give in.

His agent basically said, my client wants to be traded.  Not sure how thats not a trade request.

 

I still stand behind that anyone can request anything.  Its up to the team to accept or deny said request.

Also, apparently Brinson is the same as sierra where you get an extra year of team control if you keep him down for 2 months or so.  But unlike sierra, brinson is pretty much MLB ready.  Really interesting decision to see what the marlins do.  Very obvious the baseball decision behind it, but theres also the PR aspect and keeping him down when he's now kind of one of the next plans to be the face of the franchise.

 

Hope they keep him and all the other guys they've acquired down for the first few months though, Neidert, Brinson, Sierra, Alcantara, and Gallen should all come up around the same time in like June or so when we are done. There are sooooo many benefits to doing so.

id love a boring, well run, consistently good baseball team.  I literally cant even imagine the Marlins in the playoffs at this point in my life.  Dont even know what id do.  I remember 1 team in my life that went to the playoffs.  Was alive for 1997 but too young.
