It's not about loading up on OFs. Robles is the number 3 prospect in all of baseball, the best outfielder not named Ohtani. If you have a chance to get him you go for it even if your primary need is pitching. And if we were to get Robles and then have too many OFs there's two answers to that. A) Of course not all of the outfield prospects will come through so the more the better and B) you could always trade one of the prospects, even Robles himself, for more pitching or for whatever the needs may be.

I hear you...I'd love to snag Robles...But I really havn't seen an emphasis on acquiring pitching when its obvious this organization had NONE.

 

Alcantara, Guzman, Neidert, Morimoto (SP?) are nice prospects, but unlikely to ever become "Ace" type pitchers.

 

They've gotten pitching back in every single trade they've made since the summer if I'm not mistaken. Not everyone acquired is gonna be an ace. 

 

 

I don't see many intriguing SP prospects on the Nationals farm... someone please inform me otherwise.
