Because no teams will trade an elite young SP for Realmuto. The Marlins asked for Whitley and got a no. I'd rather they acquire young elite talent regardless of position than take some project pitcher just to get a pitcher.

 

There are other SP out there to be had. I’m not saying it has to be a bonafide Ace, but at least a guy that projects as a frontline starter.

 

This is more from an overall rebuild standpoint rather than simply the JT deal. I get your point, give me best player available here with JT. But If you told me between Ozuna, Yelly & JT Alcantara is the best SP we got back I would be confused as to what we are trying to accomplish

Padres - MacKenzie Gore or Morejon

 

Mets - Not in love with their options but Simeon Woods Richardson would be the guy 

 

Phillies - A lot of options here. Sixto Sanchez, Adonis Medina, JoJo Romero. If they could find a way to pull 2 of 3 that would be amazing 

 

Yankees - Losainga, German, and funny enough, Michael King

I think I was the first to say I didn't like Nimmo much and I was told he's amazing. I don't see it.

Yeah I mentioned Conforto is a problem too because yes he's a good player but he only has 1 extra year of control over JT. Rosario is good, but I'd want more with him and Mets fans seem to think even just him is too much for JT.

Prospects/kids for both NY teams tend to get hyped up way more than what they're worth.

He had a 4+ win year in his first full season. How is that a dumpster fire? A majority of prospects don't turn into 4 win players.
