Marlins Park Renovation Updates

Featured Replies

I’m getting that bullshit on the Carolian Hurricanes forums. It’s like people don’t understand that theres no point spending money on the on field product if the teams not close to winning. You can also spend money on both when the time comes.

That and the idea that spending money and or time on one means they can't spend the same on the other. As if remodeling Marlins Park prevents them from improving the team.

They also changed the color of center field zone to gray, lower State Farm wall, and changed the railing to blue glass/plastic.

I'm not surprised about the trees, though I really liked the idea of having them.  Remember, there were originally trees there by the home run thing before the park opened, but they removed them too for whatever reason (maybe it would've interfered with the home run thing operating?):/monthly_2019_01/image.png.70ff4e5e01b69ac740b25fef4d806459.png" data-ratio="66.41">

The gray makes sense in that they seem to be removing all life from the color scheme, going to institution gray and blue (it'll probably look nice, but boring).

The changes to the State Farm area seem to be due to the fact they're covering that little "balcony" area that was below the Budweiser bar, and from other pictures, we can see it sticks out a bit over the area where the state farm logo/ivy goes.

On a side note, I still liked the out of town scoreboard there in the outfield instead of the advertising/single ribbon board setup they have now.

That State Farm signage doesn’t get enough attention for being hideous.  I’m glad they plan to put greenary around it.

Marlins park has a lot of “big wall” space: down the line in foul territory, the State Farm wall, the area behind the sculpture, the support pillars in right field, the triangular wall in the lower right field stands. When you have these features it makes it hard to use bright colors without overdoing it.

I'm surprised the State Farm won't be red with them getting rid of the red wall.

Oh, I wasn't meaning they should paint it purple and bright green like they had it.  But they've removed ALL color everywhere, so in theory it's becoming a lot more sterile and institutional.  I'm sure the final product will look good, though.  I'm looking forward to see it.  I'll go to the park just to see that....the on-field product won't be worth watching.

Fake fan. Stay home like the real fans.

Whoops, I'm sorry you're right!  What was I thinking?

No I get what you meant.  I personally prefer a more neutral look but the way it looked before was fine too.  It wasn’t until there was a realistic chance that they could make these aesthetic changes did I have a preference.

My chief complaint was the audio last year.  Really poor.  Way too loud.  Poor choices. My hope is that this Communidad 305 idea is going to lead to some softening of the noise coming out of the speakers with the idea that the fans are the soundtrack to the game.  Wishful thinking on my part.  We don’t have a vocal crowd at the moment

I can understand them wanting to scale back on the colors of the concourse because it could have been considered too loud before but I can't believe they're going to keep it that boring concrete gray and silver either. Maybe they plan to add some color here and there by opening day.

They should make everything black and just outline everything in red and blue

Maybe more will be changed/shown later on - we've already seen them show this new set of renderings, so maybe another will come later.

I was going to say just this - I'm surprised with how much they advertised the "Our Colores" around that they wouldn't use these colors at the park more - heck, even with murals like they did around town.

Can someone mock this up please?

I'll work on it when I get a chance.  Don't know if it'll be today, though.

They've never shown renderings of the concourse so who knows what they have in mind for it.

I meant the SRO in center.

With all of the brands they're bringing in as part of the new food options, I wonder if they'll allow each brand to customize their own stand (to an extent of course)?

We'll give you bonus likes if it's done today.

If not then no big deal, really, the likes have no actual value.

Oh well in that case, forget work.  Renderings, here I come!
