November 16, 20187 yr Jeter said the Marlins considering back the old teal colors after fans voiced a preference for the team’s original colors. “We thought about it but we wanted to move forward as an organization and not necessarily look back,” Jeter said. “We know how special it is. There’s a lot of winning history with those colors. But we wanted to move forward.” https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/mlb/miami-marlins/article221574040.html
November 16, 20187 yr They look clean, classy and elegant, much prefer these over something a clown would wear.
November 16, 20187 yr They look clean, classy and elegant, much prefer these over something a clown would wear. Was that one of the options?
November 16, 20187 yr Yeah MLB.com stuff is going fast at least in some sizes. I probably should've just ordered stuff last night, but figured I'd give the team store a shot with the (only 5%) discount.....they probably will be out of everything by the time I'm able to get there. But I also figured it'd be the same regardless of when I order it online (since the 30% discount didn't apply), so I could take a chance on getting it at the store for a discount and no shipping charges. I love them all except the blue, very plain. But all in all I think it’s a total upgrade and I’m just glad this is over so we can all now focus on the baseball side of things again. I actually like the blue one except for the lack of the primary sleeve patch - I'm guessing they felt it clashed with the other logo on the front - but I'd have put the patch on the right sleeve if that were the case. As for the baseball side - this was the most exciting part of the offseason - the baseball part is still depressing. My favorite part of the jerseys is the sleeve patch... which is only on the $250 authentic but not on the $100 replica! That's a major issue for me. Might really not buy a jersey for a while. I'd buy 10 shirts with the sleeve patch design in the center before buying a jersey without it. Major dilemma. Without the patch there's no fish at all, that's killing me. I definitely agree - it's incredibly pathetic and cheap that the replicas don't have the patch. Perhaps luckily (but still highly disappointing), the one I want - the blue one - doesn't have a patch.
November 16, 20187 yr I also find it very disappointing that they use this neat font everywhere, but they went with the standard block font for the names on the jerseys. I thought for sure they'd use this font for them.
November 16, 20187 yr Author What you've all been waiting for, Marlins Man's take: Laurence Leavy (aka “Marlins Man”) said he will continue to wear his orange Marlins jersey and visor at sporting events he attends around the country — at least for the time being. “Then I’ll see how I feel,” Leavy said. “I might change next year.” Leavy said he would have preferred the Marlins return to their past by going back to teal, a “unique” color among Major League teams. “There are a lot of teams that have red, white and blue,” said the Marlins’ most identifiable fan. “Baseball is about tradition and history, and the Marlins, for some reason, don’t believe in that.
November 16, 20187 yr What you've all been waiting for, Marlins Man's take: Good for him. He can wear the orange of the 2012-2018 Marlins who had no winning seasons. Eventually this team will have one of those, and it will be with these nice new jerseys.
November 16, 20187 yr Also, like I predicted last night... Brinson and all those players who were on the way to Marlins Park yesterday afternoon are in that video. They filmed all that stuff and took all those photos last night and today they're all doing the community events. They doing all this secretly in the last night before the unveil and I believe all players involved were first time seeing these hats and uniforms.
November 16, 20187 yr 2020: This is only the beginning lets bring back some old slogans. 2008- You gotta be here
November 16, 20187 yr So I'm guessing the whites are the primary home jersey, black will be used on Saturdays (because Miami nightlife), blues on Sunday home games.

November 16, 20187 yr These hats and uniforms were really really cool, and the new Marlins generation is coming !!!
November 16, 20187 yr These hats and uniforms were really really cool, and the new Marlins generation is coming !!! Pick yourself up stuff to wear around Taiwan yet?
November 16, 20187 yr Author I hope they just wear whatever whenever instead of having set rules personally. Oh please no. I prefer when teams have a uniform schedule. Creates stability and ensures all uniforms get fair use. Most teams that don't have a uniform schedule end up wearing one uniform wayyyy too often and it sucks.
November 16, 20187 yr So they asked people about teal and decided to go against the response. I think they realize there is more than just merchandise sales. You want sales but then you want those hats and shirts to be worn out in public. People would buy teal caps but how many things can you wear teal with? These colors probably end up on the street with more frequency and that is what they want. They want their brand to be seen
November 16, 20187 yr Authentic jerseys with players names going for $310. What planet do these people live on?
November 16, 20187 yr Authentic jerseys with players names going for $310. What planet do these people live on? I always buy replica ones.
November 16, 20187 yr I always buy replica ones. I bought replicas last time around and they worked just fine for me.....sucks these replicas don't have the sleeve patch, though.
November 16, 20187 yr I bought replicas last time around and they worked just fine for me.....sucks these replicas don't have the sleeve patch, though. Yeah but you can find a patch on eBay soon and sew one on. I've had patches sewn on before, it comes out good as long as you know someone who can sew.
November 16, 20187 yr Another interesting comparison is Texas. They don’t use Rangers on the home shirt. They have a blank collar and use red and blue piping on the sleeve. Obvious difference is the black for Miami. Have a look.
