February 10, 20197 yr Oh yeah the tickets, I ended up going in with a large group as I met with my brother in law and his family outside and we all walked in together so I walked in first and I go to give the guy my tickets and I just casually said "gimme a second we're a big group" and he says "don't worry I just need to scan one ticket" and he scanned one ticket and just told the rest of us to go through. There may have been a reason for the tickets but it wasn't truly that everyone needed a ticket.
February 10, 20197 yr Last thing... the uniforms look amazing in person, both caps and jerseys... pictures do not do these uniforms justice. I was in love with everything about them today. There's certain elements that work differently to the naked eye than in photographs. Yes there's a lot of black but the blue and red manage to fit in just right to make the whole look work. I think the uniforms have gotten plenty of praise thus far but after today I'm thinking these uniforms are gonna grow on people even more over time.

February 10, 20197 yr Author I'm thinking these uniforms are gonna grow on people even more over time. So should I have gotten it a size smaller then? I’ve heard of clothes shrinking when washed but never growing. Crap.

Just browsing through posts on social media where fans shared photos of themselves with players I noticed a handful where the fan had last years home jersey alongside the player wearing the new one. It really illustrates the upgrade.
February 10, 20197 yr 22,000 fans to 2,000 in a year! Wow! Wish we knew how many were there in 2016 and 2017. Also, these attendance numbers probably means it's at 3-7 next year too. Just sayin.

February 10, 20197 yr What changed? My only two guesses are the rebrand creating a different literal image to the public that this is not the old Loria days anymore... and that the last year of community engagement with these players did work to a degree. They might not be the "best" players yet but people are getting used to seeing guys like Brinson, Lopez, Rojas, and others involved in the community on social media and so on and so on and I think it made real fans forget about the people who left and they quickly got used to these guys. That's how I see it. Last year it was everybody left let's go to fan fest to see the new guys but nobody knew the new guys. This year, people who actually follow the team already know the new guys and were more ready to come out.
February 10, 20197 yr The uniforms definitely looked great up close/in person, I just worry about the look from a distance - and that's only from a colors concern - the bright colors get washed out by the black from a distance when not in direct light.

February 10, 20197 yr So if real fans stay home and don't support this organization then what kind of fans were the 22,000 people there yesterday? Very curious considering there were more people there than when we had that All Star level superstar team that won all those seasons from 2013-2017.

February 10, 20197 yr @SixtoBullet did u try any of the new food venues? I wanted to try the Miami best Pizza but after eating all those hot dogs samples couldn't eat again.

I didn't eat but my kid and wife had the pizza and I tried it and it was amazing. Tasted like "real" pizza as opposed to the poor quickly made version that they had before. It was definitely more expensive at $12 each but the quality was infinitely better in every way.

I didn't eat because I had had lunch already, and had dinner plans and wasn't hungry. What I did see, though, looked good. It was definitely more expensive at $12 each but the quality was infinitely better in every way. That's good to hear. I would often get pizza at the park before, so I'll definitely be trying it. It's sounded like there's going to be quite a few options worth trying, though, which is good. I just hope these "specialty"/local restaurants don't mean very expensive food. I know they have the 305 menu, but it'd be nice to see low-ish prices across the board. I also thought it was nice that they had a cheese, pepperoni, and veggie option.
February 11, 20197 yr I bitch about the food pricing and they need to do a better merchandise sale at their Fanfest https://marlins.research-mlb.com/s3/FanFest-Survey?partnerId=ed-13400164-1124948853
February 11, 20197 yr What was wrong with the merchandise sales process? Or you just want discounted prices? --- The last question on that survey was "do you plan to attend opening day on March 28th, 2019" yes or no. I put no, but wish I could've given a reason - it's a freaking 4:10 start on a Thursday. I'm at work at that time and the game will be 3/4 over by the time I can get there.

Take the second half of the day off? Seems like plenty of advanced notice to give your employer, no?

Most teams at their FF do heavy discount of the past seasons merch, bought three royals teams issued for $12 each. Diamond Backs had 2/$40 hat sale and $50 jerseys. Even the Giants don't sale their stuff cheap, they had game used hats for $35
February 12, 20197 yr These were pretty cool too. Made me feel more part of it since I couldn't be there.
