March 11, 20197 yr I don't like how OurColores is apparently the slogan for the season, its on all their news releases as the slogan typically is. It was a good slogan for the reveal, but I almost like Just Getting Started more and that wasn't that great either. Is what's his name going to do a custom song called Our Colores? Can we count on it being bracketed by "another one" and "DJ KHALEDDDD!!!!!" ?? It was actually the next day lol. The teased date revealed the logo and the colors, which technically were already all leaked ahead of time, then they were like "uniforms will be revealed tomorrow" which is what everyone really wanted to see. Oh that's right. Even worse haha.
March 11, 20197 yr Do you remember the name of the movie by chance? I think the #OurColores move was pretty cool. But overall yes I can see why this is said. Well, it was the point that mattered, but if you really want to know, thinking about it, it was an episode on a Netflix show, Taken. So, it was a tv show, not a movie. But I could have made it up, but not my memories. My daughter was the same way when she was little-watching the fish in the mid-90's, we were losers, but she never wanted to leave early, always wishing for extra innings. That is why I tempered my take on what Jeter said. There is one difference, it wasn't about creating an experience, it was about just enjoying the game and she always knew who was playing. So, one can still question what the "experience" is if you don't even know what teams are playing but you are going to a "Marlins game". Do you cheer for a home run regardless of which team hits it. So, yes, Jeter does not get off scott free for his comments.
March 11, 20197 yr Do you cheer for a home run regardless of which team hits it. So, yes, Jeter does not get off scott free for his comments. He didn't mean this, but I see why you took it that way. I'm sure you aren't the only one that did.
March 11, 20197 yr He didn't mean this, but I see why you took it that way. I'm sure you aren't the only one that did. I'm going to tell you now that fish53 was indeed not the only one who took it that way. Thus why we have those articles.
March 11, 20197 yr Well, it was the point that mattered, but if you really want to know, thinking about it, it was an episode on a Netflix show, Taken. So, it was a tv show, not a movie. Ah, OK. No probs ?
March 11, 20197 yr I'm going to tell you now that fish53 was indeed not the only one who took it that way. Thus why we have those articles. Those articles are written by people that possibly did get it, but they are sensationalizing it for clicks.
March 11, 20197 yr Those articles are written by people that possibly did get it, but they are sensationalizing it for clicks. Absolutely, but in turn they have caused others to think that way. It's unfortunate and the narrative won't change until we start winning.
March 11, 20197 yr This is a fact. Means we'll have to listen to it for at least another year, although I think if this team happens to surpass 70 wins and surprise us, positive articles could be written. I think Lopez is going to be fun to watch this year and if Brinson's showing so far this Spring isn't a fluke, then that'll be exciting. I worry about Monte though, he's looked absolutely lost this last week.
March 11, 20197 yr Author Means we'll have to listen to it for at least another year, although I think if this team happens to surpass 70 wins and surprise us, positive articles could be written. What's gonna be almost as funny is if Jeter does fix this mess of a franchise get ready for all the articles praising him and saying he did it right from day one. Just like now with the Astros being seen as some revolutionary geniuses.

Just like now with the Astros being seen as some revolutionary geniuses. Yep, of course. But right now it's all "same shit different day" going around because it's the Marlins and "firesale, firesale!"
March 11, 20197 yr Absolutely, but in turn they have caused others to think that way. It's unfortunate and the narrative won't change until we start winning. Nope. The narrative will just shift from "Marlins are terrible, they don't want to win" to "when is the next firesale?", "counting down the days to the next firesale", "the team is good now, but wait until they get expensive", "awaiting the return to the typical Marlins playbook" etc. Just watch. And the next time (both now and after we're competitive) we trade a relevant guy if we're out of it at the deadline, it'll be FIRESALEEEE AGAINNN!!!!
March 11, 20197 yr Nope. March 11, 20197 yr The articles that are constantly dished out about the Marlins by idiots that don't follow the team, and just repeat what they read by another idiot, is a reason why we need to have a fan led website with articles by us. I used to do this for this website and for Fish Stripes. Of the two, I preferred this, but preferred the old format that Larry had that allowed for some of us that wrote to put in our pieces and points of view. E!SPN and the rest of the plagiarists that follow them will not give respect to the Marlins. It's all about Red Sox and Yankees with them.
March 12, 20197 yr It’s definitely weird that the Marlins would get piled on by the national media after not making the playoffs for 15 years and trading the 2017 MVP and the 2018 MVP.
March 15, 20197 yr It’s definitely weird that the Marlins would get piled on by the national media after not making the playoffs for 15 years and trading the 2017 MVP and the 2018 MVP. AND 2019.
March 15, 20197 yr Author Wtf happens in 2022 That's the year we finally get rid of Chen. There's no way he wins the MVP.
March 15, 20197 yr That's the year we finally get rid of Chen. There's no way he wins the MVP. You’re right. More likely to get cy young
March 15, 20197 yr If the Marlins trade three MVP's in a row, I'll streak the stadium in a leopard thing. If they trade 5 out of 6 years, I'll move to Mexico and build the damn wall myself.
March 16, 20197 yr That's the year we finally get rid of Chen. There's no way he wins the MVP. 2020 is his final year, 2021 is with vesting options
March 16, 20197 yr Author 2020 is his final year, 2021 is with vesting options Never let the facts get in the way of a good joke.
