Marlins sign Matt Kemp

Featured Replies

one was a free agent. One was already signed.

both males?

The differences between Kemp and Kendrick make no difference to my point that under the radar depth signings are often crucial components to championship teams even though the spotlights go to the superstar acquisitions.

If I hadn't used Kendrick as an example in my original post you would have had to nothing to pick at.

Sure it does, Kendrick wasnt a question mark when he was signed by the Nationals. You knew what you were getting with Kendrick. He was an under the radar depth type signing.

But Kemp sure as fuck isnt. Kemp is more like a I have no fucking clue what we are getting signing to a Minor League Deal and we hope for the fucking best.

Nationals EXCECPTED something from Kendrick.

If the Marlins are truly EXPECTING Kemp to produce they are dumber than a fucking box of rocks

Another point to consider. You can’t make people want to sign with the marlins. They’ve got some proving to do to make themselves desirable and credible to free agents. Yes I know money talks and the easy comeback is that players always take more money. While they may be true in many instances, sometimes they do take less if they really want a certain team (MadBum). The desirable names with multiple teams asking are probably going to be out of reach. It doesn’t have to always be that way but it might have to be in the near term.

Mad Bum would have signed with a California team for 100 mil + to offset the take home pay he will receive in the desert. I think people kinda forget that point.

85 mil in California doesnt go nearly as far as 85 mil in the desert.

I'm sure the Marlins called the Indians to ask about Lindor.

MARLINS ANNOUNCE ACQUISITION OF MULTIPLE LINDORS.

Imagine being a fan of a team that is involved in the Lindor talks right now.

The Indians? I think they may be a bit worried.
