This is worse than Granderson fyi because the 2019 team was meant to suck, Granderson was coming off more recent success than Kemp, Granderson was also half brought in just to be a mentor and his on field stuff was secondary, and he was at best going to be a trade chip at the deadline.

 

Matt Kemp has forgotten how to play baseball yet is coming to the Marlins at a time when they desperately need to show genuine efforts towards on field improvement.

As has been said by others, if this is one of a few moves, and they sign another bigger/more relevant/younger guy, I don't mind taking a flyer on him, but if this is THE move they make and try to pass it off as some noteworthy move that's going to reshape our team, that's pathetic.

You're very wrong here because you're assuming this is our big move. The Athletics and Rays would definitely sign a veteran name to a minor league contract for depth purposes. It's very possible that that's all this move is.

 

As for Mish, he's responded to multiple people asking if this was their big move and he says no this is not it and they are not done.

Kemp is not good enough for that. If you are suggesting they should have offered Kemp a major league contract you are wrong. They should be making major league offers but not to this guy.
