Sucks for Oakland, man. First the Raiders now the A's.

I mean, their city council people/mayors don't seem eager to keep any of the teams.  I thought this latest proposal was pretty far along and seemingly on a path to happening, but I guess not.

Portland, Oregon could make sense... it's one of the largest markets without a franchise and it keeps them in AL West

Seems like Vegas is a likely destination.

Which would also keep them in the AL West.

Hope they change their name if they move. Las Vegas A's sounds stupid to me.

Agreed, though I find it hard to believe they'd easily throw out the A's name with the history behind it.

They'd be the first ever four-city team.

could call themselves the Ace's and solve that issue if they relo to Vegas and really want to keep the A's thing going

I bet

Las Vegas seems like the go to choice if they move based on things Manfred has said.

We already have the WNBA team, Las Vegas Aces.

I'm all for an MLB team here, just as long as it's privately-funded. I don't got the chips for that kind of deal.

I hope Oakland folds and they stay there.

Because Manfred is:

a) honest

b) sincere

c) is furthering along the game of baseball for generations

Its an idiotically stupid power play move by MLB.

I disagree with a lot of what Manfred is doing to the game, but what is idiotic and stupid about this?

They've been trying to get something done for at least a decade+ in Oakland with nothing to show for it.  At some point they have to move on if nothing's going to happen.  Every time they seem to have something about to be in place, the plan seems to implode.

They arent going to leave the #6 market for what?  #15?  or lower?

Follow the dollars.  Always.
