Is that a new filter on instagram

Yup, it’s the one that gives people a mushroom haircut, a wine cooler, and a subscription to penthouse magazine.

Ah...the good old days

Nah I like that he did this, always leave them wanting more. It was my goal with every ex.

Maybe this is Ng's approach - leave the fans wanting more?

It’s a $13.5MM guarantee, reports Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (on Twitter). He’ll receive matching $6.75MM salaries in each of the next two seasons, adds Rob Biertempfel of the Athletic.

Pirates and Reynolds agreed to a 2 year deal to avoid arbitration, so seems like that option is out, or became harder because he's signed, and he'll still have 2 years of arbitration after.

I'm not sure this really changes anything, he was under control anyway and they knew roughly what he'd get in Arby.

But it'll allow the Pirates to ask for more in return.

Why? Both parties knew about what he'd get in Arby and he was already under control. This doesn't really change anything.

Because if he has a massive year, he's already locked in at a lower rate next year vs. what he could've made.

I think we're talking more about right now, though, and yes it would make him a little more valuable cause the contract is already settled for next year, too. If he does indeed have a massive year, hopefully we'll have already gone ahead and made the trade and he has the massive year here and not there.

I remember Yelich's team friendly contract being considered a big deal when he was being shopped here. Maybe they won't or wouldn't ask for more but the Pirates now get more leverage and can ask for more if they want. This news doesn't do anything to lower the price on Reynolds (the player, not the wrap).

Cause Yelich's deal had bought out free agent years, this one didn't.

Alright Kim, well prove me wrong and get me Bryan Reynolds.

A fair point - I think the Yelich deal covered one FA season, cause I believe he still had six years of club control including the year he signed that deal, since he came up mid-season in 2013. Funny how that one worked out, looking back at it. Stanton got injured, so Ozuna came up. Ozuna got injured, so Yelich came up. Then eventually they all ended up playing the same outfield. Heh. Weird.

Anywho. Yeah, Yelich had all of his arbitration years locked up and one year of free agency. Had a team option for an 8th year or the second year of free agency. Matter of fact, going off of this, that contract just ended last season! His new one began this year.

(Of course, I could be wrong and the deal may have covered up to three FA years)

Yeah, that's what I'm saying too lol.

I think the Pirates would have asked for more than Brinson+ back. Or maybe that's why the trade didn't get made!
