It makes sense for parents. Getting home half an hour earlier on a school night is appealing.

Even if it means getting to the game in the 3rd inning?

I'm not understanding this problem. Leave your house 30 minutes earlier? Traffic is gonna be there whether the game starts at 6:40 or 7:10.

Parents work, so they can't always leave 30 minutes earlier.  When choosing between leaving work 30 minutes earlier or putting my kids to bed 30 minutes later, I'm picking the latter.

That's fair but many parents, if they can, would choose to find a way to leave work earlier and appreciate the game ending earlier.

Then again, you're thinking of a parent who works until 5 and goes from there. I'm thinking of the ones who aren't at work for whatever reason and they make a day of it and they pick their kid up from school by 3 or 4 or then get ready by then and head to the ballpark earlier. I'm a teacher so I know a lot of kids who tell me they're going to the game tonight and they're getting ready right after school.

I guess there's a right answer for either scenario.

I would rather get there at the start of the 3rd than leave after the 7th.

Here's another idea that might be pretty good:

Start school at 9 AM.

How effing late does school start there in S. Florida?!
