June 5, 20224 yr I know that I might be one of the only ones here who thinks this, but I actually wouldn’t mind having Joe Girardi back as the Marlins manager. I know he didn’t make the smartest moves back in 2006, but to be fair, it was his rookie season as a manager. Of course, I haven’t followed his career since he left the Marlins to know if he has improved in making in game decisions over the past 16 years, so maybe he is still lacking in that regard. But based on some of Donnie’s managerial moves that we’ve seen, I can’t really imagine Joe being much worse. Well, I know there’s only about a 2% chance of the Marlins hiring him so I don’t have my hopes up. I think the main reason I like the idea is that I have such fond memories of the 2006 season so I associate that year with Girardi, even though the good memories were actually from the players like Uggla, Jacobs, Cabrera, Anibal and the others. What a great roster and such a fun year to be a Marlins fan!
