This team needs a HOT June and not only HOT against the Nats, if can't take the series of Astros, Phillies and Mets then it's meaningless to sweep the Nats.

that would be lovely but expecting this team who is 12 under against the rest of the league to win all 3 of those series is a bit much. I'd take series from the Astros and Phillies but would probably be happy just not to be swept by the Mets.

It would be nice to go 5-5 on the trip. I don’t expect anything better.

Agreed.

But if it happened...I would immediately be hooked again.

I was at a game that had a long rain delay during a JJ start and Joe kept him in. That was an infamous game I believe.

No no no no no.

This was in 2011, not 2006.

Edwin Rodriguez [and JJ himself] decided to pitch him against the Mets after he had fully warmed up and then the Mets conveniently decided to say "oh hey so there's been a lot of misting today and the field isn't ready ... sorryyyyyyyy."

So after more than an hour delay in which JJ did not stay warm, he went out and pitched like six innings and then that was ... that was it.

This was the Burke Badenhop Game, BTW.

Damn I really thought Joe was the manager for that game that happened in. My memory must be going.

Joe did also do something similar in 2006, but yeah, the one to which I was referring was 2011 and Edwin.

That game was insane, though, the Badenhop one. Wind was blowing in, mist still coming down, game started over an hour late, it was like ... in the 50s temperature-wise.

Every ball hit in the air to the outfield just died.

Except ... the one (Mike) Stanton connected with in the 7th inning off Mike Pelfrey.

465 to straightaway center. They said it would have been 500+ under normal weather conditions.

Lose first 5 win last 5, accomplishes two things.

1. Status quo, baby!

2. Shatters the Mets hopes once more.

If we’re not gonna win this year, at least we can take the Mets down with us.

I ... I don't, actually.

I remember "catch our moves" and "you gotta be here" and the fact that this site had better slogans for years on end than the actual team.

Wasn’t there one involving waves at one point too?

This tradition sadly ended under previous management when the team rebranded. The last one the site did was 2011.

Just curious if it’s something we’d do again for fun?

If we have ideas, I can help to try and come up with some graphics depending on what formats are used.   We obviously don’t need anything fancy of course, but I have illustrator/photoshop at home.

if there’s any interest anyway 🤷🏼‍♂️
