Got news to discuss on a Marlins minor leaguer climbing the ladder to the Show?  Post it here!

Didn't know he was getting playing time at 3B.... Interesting...

They've been playing him all over the infield. 25 at short, 16 at third, 12 at second this year.

Good to have him moving around to see where everyone else will be on the field by the time he's called up.

If it doesn't interfere with their development, I'd like to see Yiddi and Ian Lewis play different positions.  Increase their chances of getting called up faster or improve trade value (but I don't trust Kim trading our prospects to better the team)

Another name I am hearing about on Twitter is 17 year old OF Anthony Peguero.

We don't have a good 3B prospect in the minors.  Either Salas or Cappe are going to have to move to 3B.  Then there is Ian Lewis and Watson.  McCants is off to a pretty good start in the FCL, also.  Might need to move one of them to CF as well.  Loads of infield talent coming up in the low minors.

When was the last time we had a really good 3B propsect?  Lowell? I think Salas could be up ad playing 3B in a few years

Was Lowell even a prospect with the Fish? Think he got traded over and started immediately.

this seems to happen the bulk of the time with the marlins productive position players.  they just never seem to be able to turn out productive bats on their own.  sure there have been a few but man, it's really freaking rare and it goes back a LOOOOOOONG time.

Yeah. Somehow we got four at once with the 14 to 17 squads.

We traded for Lowell.  I don't think he spent too much time in the minors with the fish.  The last hyped 3B prospect was Miggy Cabrera.  Before that, Josh freaking Booty!  LMAO BA has been decent there but he was never a hyped prospect.

Right - that's what I was saying - traded for Lowell and he was basically inserted immediately.

BA was only internally hyped cause he was one of our top prospects in a crap system. lol

Salas gas blown past Watson this year and is easily our number two prospect behind eury.

He is playing his way into untouchable status right now.

He's a top 100 overall and wouldn't shock me if by the end of the year he's borderline top 10 in all of baseball.

We are stacked at middle if/ shortstop and some of these kids are going to outgrow and nice to 3b. Which is a good thing since we could use some 3b in the pipeline.

I've been saying to move Cappe behind the plate and see if we can get another Realmuto situation. Lol. That said, yeah, Salas, Cappe, Lewis all pretty good up the middle, lock up Jazz at second long term (or short if his defense there improves) and go forth.

Did I miss some real publication naming Salas a top 100 prospect?

Callis just updated the rankings on pipeline and Salas isnt top 100 there....

Not sure what BA has done with their rankings, I dont subscribe.

No he is not but neither was eury last year.

I'm not going to look it up but there aren't many 19 year olds in double a and there aren't many in high a either.

Age is a huge indicator of future success. The earlier they get to the majors the better chance of success, superstar success.

No guarantees obviously but we have a couple big time prospects. Something sorely lacking in the past.
