True could be 2035

It'll be the same shit as always. Some random year or two we'll have a mildly competitive team for a stretch while owner refuses to spend to push us over the top. I fully expect Sandy gone in a few years to "jumpstart" another rebuild.

Meyer TJ, Khalil prob a bust, eury hurt, sixto disappeared and no one really stepping up elsewhere seems about right

Yep the Khalil thing really hurt the ranking I'm sure. The Eury thing is pretty recent so I don't think that had much impact. But literally nary a big time bat prospect on the rankings really hurts and the few shit ones we had have been promoted (instead of being part of trade prior to season) and they're underwhelming to say the least.

I said many times this team got the last chance to show us they care and that's the 2023 opening day roster.

But you also said that about 2021, 2022...

And he'll say it about 2024, 2025, 2026, 2027 ...

For him the word "last" actually means "next"

I've always believed the farm rankings adjust as prospects graduate and eventually new prospects replace them but that would imply that the big league team is improved and that other great prospects are added into the system soon enough. Neither is happening here. What a disaster, especially for a team who preached about trying to build a layered farm system that continues to sustain itself.

And we joke about prospect hoarding but even that isn't going well anymore. This organization is crumbling at multiple points now and it's very concerning.

I mean, if we just view it as a circus, then I guess it isn't so bad?

Maybe we need to tell them they're supposed to be good at being good, instead of being good at being bad lol.
