Who should we protect?

I forgot Victor Victor Mesa even exists.

 

Protect Johnston for actual potential, Conine just for his name, I don't care if he sucks, he needs to make his MLB debut in a Marlins uniform.

I blame Oz Ocampo

I would think Elieser and Lewin have enough value to hold on to and try and trade somewhere. Not so sure on Anderson. He's probably a goner but it wouldn't be the worst thing to have him on the roster for now, just don't rely on him as a key starter anymore.

Yea weird wording there. Feels like they're over him in Miami but fresh start isn't what that would be. Anderson is the one who needs the fresh start, or the ol' "change of scenery." Makes me wonder if there's a list of these baseball cliche terms.

Yeah for sure I think BA would be the fresh start dude and would probably be serviceable for a number of teams. 

From the original list, Simpson only. Maybe Johnson. I'd risk someone taking Johnston or Banfield and likely not a huge loss if gone. Johnson probably falls in to that category also.

Ditch - Brazoban, Brigham

Let's you take 1 guy in the Rule V, I am assuming another RHP RP here. And if they think they can get 2 guys in the Rule V they like, maybe ditch Devers also. Or Lewin. Probably worth holding onto Castano (OOO) and Hernandez for now but they can also go. This then sets up trading two of BA/Berti/Wendle/Rojas and replacing them with a SS and CF, and any of those back of the roster guys (as well as SP trades, i.e. Pablo) can get moved out for new RP options.

He fits in very well IMO as a multi-positional right handed bat for Cleveland and Arizona. That is a good throw in for a larger deal for Rosario or pick a CF.

Seems Marlins did not protect any of these guys? Saw no transactions today and the 40-man was full.

I think they’ve come to the realization that they missed on pretty much every position player and the development has failed so no point in clogging the pipes.
