I mean, do you think if the Marlins had signed Correa in the offseason and they played the exact same opening series against the Mets and probably still lost at least 2 games even with Correa, that the Monday night game against the Twins would have a sizeably different crowd size. I honestly don't think so. Now on the other hand, if the Marlins would have swept the Mets with their current roster. Guarantee the crowd would be at least double size from 7k to 14k. 😂

This is from tonight. Attendance is gonna be so bad this season, rightfully so.

I'm just saying that you can't base attendance off opposing team players. If Correa is on the Marlins they sell more tickets before the season starts and then this game has more people there even with the shit series vs the Mets.

What you said is like if the Marlins had bad attendance vs the Angels and then you say "Oh this shows that people wouldn't show up even if Trout and Ohtani were with the Marlins." That's just a really poor statement.

Beautiful modern new stadium, one of the most beautiful, most desirable cities in the world to live in (at least weather wise and ocean tropical scenary. People.. Ehhh not too much) and a crowd like this on a beautiful spring afternoon in April on a Monday night. Meanwhile Fenway is sold out every game and every night of the week, don't matter if its freezing cold or if they playing the Yanks or the Pirates or Nationals.

this town wants to watch a winning team, that’s the end of the story.  This team doesn’t win, and on top of that, it’s abysmally boring because they’re flat out uncompetitive.  
But Correa gives us a better chance to win, so while on a given night, it may not change much, so we’d do better and therefore increase attendance.

Hahaha. I know. I already make that statement half joking because the idea behind it usually is that because someone like Correa who is from Puerto Rico should attract a large crowd since presumably there is a sizable Puerto Rican population in Miami.

So the joke is not so much that people would come if he is on the Marlins or not, its more like a tongue in cheek reference to statements like "Yasiel Puig should help with attendance because of Miami's large population of Cubans." 😂

So that's kind of what I was referencing. Of course having Correa might increase the Marlins win total by 3-4 games over the course of the year. But with the other 20+ players being the same, I'm guessing the Correa himself might not be enough to noticeably increase the attendance. But either way it doesn't matter because Joey Wendle is the Marlins SS.
