Why doesn’t this team steal more bases?

Featured Replies

We've been wondering this all year.

So many steals last year when that was less doable. So few steals this year when it is doable.

It's like this time tries to zig when the league zags.

Just zag, dammit.

A team that hits so many ground balls I don’t get it

Because stealing is bad. Did your parents not teach you that?

No parental shaming.

Bro.. just because you always call us “daddy” doesn’t mean we’re actually your fathers. Get a grip on reality friend.

Is there anything lamer than people making a big deal of Acuna’s 60 SB? It’s not impressive with the new rules.

It's kind of impressive still. But if you want we can compare it to ... let's say 40 steals.

It's very odd.  You don't do it just to steal bases but also hit and runs.  It can move defenders out of place so more of those grounders get through. Puts more pressure on the defense.  Stay out of a double play.

It only makes too much sense.

especially with our hitting coach's approach to just making consistent contact (which is why we've hit into so many double plays - which, if they did hit and run more often or attempt steals would help lessen the dps)

Although his lack of hustle nearly cost the team that run. Lol

Is it possible that Jazz lack of HUSTLE !? yeah, watch the replay and he just ran slowly in the beginning.

Maybe the league doesn’t want an extreme amount of evidence against their decision to widen the bases.  Some teams or perhaps the whole league could be under league restraint for prosperity of the game or the hope that bigger bases will become longevity for the sport.

So far, this year the stolen base success rate is above 80%. However, the attempts are only 0.3 higher per team than last year.   With an 80% + success rate, it should make us question why isn’t teams attempting more steals.

Yes, Jazz ran slowly twice yesterday and both times could have cost us.

Skip needs to sit his ass.

A prima donna who's barely played this season but fancies himself as an all-star that can't be bothered put in some effort by merely RUNNING?!

You don't hustle you ride the fucking bench. Period.

Don’t you know It’s actually spelled “Pre-Madonna”.

😂

It always cracks me up so much when people incorrectly write “Pre-Madonna” and think it’s correct. Like I wonder what they’re thinking.. if someone is acting like a diva they are acting like the way you would describe someone acted before the material girl herself got famous and acted like that but there wasn’t a way to describe that attitude before Madonna was around. 😂
