So I ended up at Olive Garden yesterday celebrating my mom's birthday, my son ordered that soup because he had no clue what the soups were so when the waitress started recommending some he just said "yea that one" to the first one she said. He liked it but didn't want to finish it so I finished it off and it was great. I had no clue it was what you mentioned here because I didn't see it written down so I just heard the lady mumble it. Then when I saw the receipt I was like Aha! It's the chicken GUN NO CHI soup!"

I ordered before my son, I wanted salad cuz I know what I'm gonna get but out of curiosity I asked the waitress to tell me what soups they had in case something sounded good but everything sounded like she was speaking another language to me. So many Italian words that meant nothing to my stomach so I was like yea no thanks I'll have the salad. But if I had known what the heck she was talking about maybe I'd try more of the soups.

their "pasta e fagioli" is a pretty good soup also but not as good as the chicken gnocchi.  I could swear they say "pasta fa-zool" when saying it but not sure how it is actually pronounced.

Fagioli is the Italian word for beans, e is the Italian word for “and” and pasta is the Italian word for pasta.

So put it all together and you get Pasta e Fagioli - Pasta And Beans.

Fagioli is similar to the Spanish word for beans “frijoles”.

But fagioli is pronounced like “Fa-Jo-Lee”

”Pasta Fazool” is apparently a New York Italian dialect way of calling the dish. So I guess it depends on where you buy it will determine how you happen to hear it pronounced.

Here’s an example of how to pronounce it and sound like a real Italian:

You could ask what's in each of them lol.

y'all remember when Olive Garden had actual good breadsticks?  I'm talking like probably up until around the turn of the millenium and maybe a few years after?  They used to be these super pillowy, buttery,  garlicky, salty puffs of love dough...now they're these dry Bimbo bread tasting things with a dash of garlic salt on top

that's literally the ONLY thing at RL that is good anymore.  I swear to God they're a cover operation at this point because nearly ALL their food is fried or microwaved.  I haven't been back in years but every now and then someone at work will just randomly mention how utterly awful RL is because they got dragged to one (usually by an elderly person - who seems to be 90% of their clientele).

 

edit:  I've met multiple people who claim OG's breadsticks are still the same as they've always been and are the "best" anywhere.  Like I dig some good garlic bread but on the rare occasions I end up at an OG i will not be partaking in those empty calories from those substandard sticks.

 

If anyone here has been to Texas Roadhouse - them dinner rolls are the softness level that OG's breadsticks used to be
