April 1, 20242 yr Waah, waah. Grow up, loser. Hit better. Field better. Earn a measly fraction of the money you gleefully collect.
April 1, 20242 yr I feel like Marlins fans are some of the most forgiving fans.. as in this franchise has put out a less than stellar lineup every year for many years running and somehow we still tune in year after year. For the Marlins fans to boo a Marlins player shows that the player must have been so bad for so long that we’ve reached that point of not taking it anymore. He has no one to blame but himself. Bat .270 with 20+ HRs and the boos go away. That’s not even too much to ask that is like average numbers for a player of his skill set and that’s the reason the Marlins signed him to that contract was to put up numbers like that as a baseline but hoping for 30+ HRs.

Also it means he's so bad that the casual fans have noticed and remembered it. I say that because I've been around countless fans who don't notice the details we here know yet I've been at 3 of the first 5 games this year and it's like everyone in the building seems to know how bad Avi is. That's an accomplishment with this fanbase.

He didn't usually trade prospects/cheap players away to dump salary - his thing was he wouldn't eat any of the cost of a high priced player when trading him to get back a better prospect. But yeah, he would release guys who sucked. Loria was much more impatient (or just not as cheap) than Sherman seems to be so he'd cut bait faster and try something new.
