So $150 for something you don't want, then an extra $35 to see what you do want?

Bingo- but they frame it as $185 for something you want and look at everything else you get for free.

I know I have no interest in watching games from the rest of the league. I've barely watched Marlins games the last few years TBH. But a local-only option would be more preferrable for me, and I'm sure many other potential customers.

Honestly, thats why I want it on Scripps / Over the Air. Just like panthers games. All games free unless nationally televised.

This sucks for those of us in Florida but not in the Miami area. I love the Fish but I'm not shelling out any $$$ for MLB.TV. We don't get Panthers games OTA here so I'm assuming it'd be the same situation with the Marlins. Sigh

I looked up the Panthers streaming option a few weeks back since I don't have cable (therefore don't have the local channel they broadcast on), and it was like $70 for the season (they're offering it for $40 right now for the rest of the season).

Apple has had MLS season pass at $99, which gave you access to all MLS games (not just a particular team), but it was separate from Apple TV+ (so if you wanted both TV+ and MLS, you paid for both). However, for next season, Apple is eliminating the standalone MLS season pass, and you'll automatically get it with Apple TV+ (and vice versa - if you want the MLS, you'll automatically get Apple TV+ programming), which is running $14.70/month after taxes. That makes it $176.40 for the year, but you're also getting all the Apple TV+ shows/content with that.

If the Marlins are able to offer something in that $70-$100 range for your team, I feel like people would do that....I'd consider it (though I don't watch as much as I used to). As a more casual viewer these days, forcing you to buy an MLB.TV package for the whole league for the $150 that I don't want, plus an extra $35 for just your team, that math starts going out the window for me.

I do have cable (included in my rent, sort of) and no desire to add another streaming service on top of the ones I have already. I don't pay for Apple TV which is a big reason why I don't follow our local MLS club (Orlando City). When the Marlins were on Bally/Fanduel/FSFL I could get the games "free" on cable, but it's just not in my budget unfortunately for how many games I actually watch per season (usually around 50, otherwise I might follow on the MLB app or social media but rarely do I actually sit down and watch a full 9 innings these days.)

Yeah, I hear ya. It's annoying that everything is subscription these days.

PM ME, and I'll give you some options to get Marlins and Panthers games nationally.

I live in Orlando am able to watch almost every Panthers game on ESPN+. Last year I paid for Bally Sports on Amazon to watch the Marlins. It feels like where I'll be able to watch the Marlins this year is up in the air. I'm in a weird spot where most of the cable packages that have Bally Sports, those channels generally don't show the Marlins here, except on DirecTV. And yet if I use MLB.TV I'm still blacked out from Marlins games. Using the Bally App I was able to get them, though. Now this just throws another layer of confusion.

my grandpa is in his 90s and he watches all the games. there needs to be a local TV option. Older people like him don't know how to use streaming services. hopefully it does end up on scripps like the cats

I originally posted the info here, but made a separate thread instead focusing on just the Marlins TV info so it didn't get lost.
