Why not Mordecai?
IMO if Red still cant play and nobody from the minors have been called up, JACK should put Mordecai as catcher. :mischief2 He cant be any worse than Castro. :confused

bush
I disagree. He got us into a military action we could have avoided. Wasted billions of tax dollars (on war and churches). And he needs to evolve and let gays marry. I'm not saying Kerry's the better choice, I'm just not a fan of Bush. You probably would like to see more attacks on the U.S and you are probably gay.LOL

Will the Marlins hit a grand slam this year?

Will the Marlins hit a grand slam this year?
I think it might be Castro, too. Who do y'all think will be on the bases? I think JP, Castillo and Beckett. Unless Castro is moved up to like cleanup it is impossible for JP, LOUIE, and BECKETT to be on base

I think Choi will hit a grand slam this year for the Marlins.

My two cents
Looks like Castro is not as good as everybody (incluiding myself) though. :banghead IMO Kendall will help us win more games.

Next move
My assumption is that the Marlins, city and county had to have back up plans and contingencies in place in case they did not receive the state money this session. Everyone knew it was a longshot to receive the money on the last day of the session. I agree, I think they have back up plans

i'm confused....
That's ESPN for you..... They don't know jack s***, in my opinion ESPN has been loosing a lot of credibility this year with the coverage they are providing of MLB this year. They really DO NOT LIKE the marlins. Leave it to them to write an article that only says teh NEGATIVE things about this stadium deal. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1792907 so, in everyone's opinion, what happens if\when 5pm passes and we do not have any money from the state? do they: A) go ahead starting the construction, under the assumption that $30 million is a small enough gap that it will be filled somehow, probably by the state next time it's in session B) wait to begin construction until the senate is back in session, and see if they can get money then (i won't even include option C, which would be moving the team somewhere else, b/c we all know that's not happening... :cool ) Option A will probably happen cause they said they could do it without the state.

Sorry but Nate and Fox Blew the game...
If Justin Wanye could start why not leave him in for at least one more inning.?. :mischief2 Jack seems to leave starters in too long and taking releivers out too early especially when the relievers are pitching well.

Todays attendance
27,977 :confused If a stadium deal doesnt get done attendance might decease to 10,000 per game Fans come to the ball park to have fun and cheer the team on. The reasons attendance is up so well this year: 1) We are the World Series Champs with a chance to defend the title 2) The team is off to a good start 3) They are fun to watch and 4) for this series, it's the Braves...and they always draw well. If a stadium deal falls through, we may see a drop in attendance...but nowhere near what you are showing....perhaps 10-15% that's all. I hope you are right

Thoughts on game
I expect another good crowd tomorrow night too. More than usual since it will be in the evening, and not quite as hot. Who wants to go to a game at 8? We'll I do, but who is going to go to a game at 8? Most people will get home at midnight on a Sunday night; thats not good! I'm going with 6 others, D-Train is pitching and we ar # 1 in MLB I expect at least 28K tomorrow Today there were 41,000+ I think 45,000 for tomorrows game is a better number.

Coca Cola celebrates 2003 Marlins
Link Hollywood, FL (April 23, 2004) -- With opening day fresh in their minds, Florida baseball fans can now toast their hometown team -- the Florida Marlins -- with special 8-ounce Coca-Cola bottles commemorating the team's recent championship. The customized carrier and bottles of Coca-Cola classic feature the Marlins' logo along with a message recognizing the team's recent accomplishment: "The Refreshing Taste of Victory: Marlins 2003 Champions." The Florida Coca-Cola Bottling Company produced 25,000 cases of these specially designed bottles, which will only be available while supplies last. The six-packs can currently be found on the shelves of supermarkets, convenience stores and other retails outlets in South Florida: from Ft. Pierce to the Florida Keys, and as far west as Ft. Myers. "We are very excited to continue to share our world championship with a very deserving public," said David Samson, President, Florida Marlins. "The Marlins organization is proud to be associated with a winning tradition like Florida Coca-Cola." Last week, with help from "Billy the Marlin," the Florida Coca-Cola Bottling Company unveiled this newest commemorative bottle to consumers. In addition, souvenir cans commemorating the Marlins' championship were released last fall. "If our experience with the sale of other souvenir cans or bottles is any indication, these commemorative six-packs won't be available for long," said Ray Gough, South Area Vice President, Florida Coca-Cola Bottling Company. "Our Company is proud to be able to recognize the Marlins on their championship season and honor the team in this way." Through a recent agreement, Coca-Cola announced plans to continue to refresh Florida Marlins fans through the 2006 season. Since the team's franchise was established in 1993, Coca-Cola has been the Official Soft Drink Partner of the Florida Marlins.

Phillies Message Board
Wow those are some angry fans, do they not realize that if Conine would have played the ball Polanco would probely still had just a double. Also there were 3 hitters after Polanco that couldnt drive him in and win it. Polanco wasnt even rounding 2nd when the ball got stuck Phillies fans just dont want to except the fact that the Marlins are better then they are :cool
