Deadspin.com just leaked all the Marlins financial documents for 2008
This should clear everything up: http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/2010-08-23/sports/fl-florida-marlins-financial-document20100823_1_payroll-profit-marlins-president-david-samson The Marlins have been making money! One more thing to remember from what I have seen the individual salaries are not on here. We have no idea how much Samson and Loria have been making.

Disturbing
From what I remember there were other deals from the Angels and Dodgers... The big names from the Angels were Santana and Hendrick The big names from the Dogers were Kemp and Billingworth But again these were only rumors

Andrew Miller
I know he's in the minors but I haven't seen any stats on him. There is nothing saying that he's injured. Does anyone know why he hasn't pitched yet?

Chad James
Where is he and why did he not play last year?

Emilio Bonifacio Splits
I am not sure if this topic has ever been discussed but after looking through Bonifacio's splits he really has a lot of upside as a hitter (if he can ever put it together). His splits in 08 and 09 are almost the complete opposite of another. Did Anyone Go To Dinner On The Diamond?
sooooo..... I have gone a couple of times.... The best was when I went in 2003 when we still had JP, D-lee, and Lowell. The guys on the team used to be so nice. Now not so much. A little story! I won a josh beckett autographed full unused world series ticket sheet at the 2005 dinner on the diamond and that little sh*t of a troll came down and wrote Mr Lorias name down when the bidding had ended. We got into a little altercation and the head of the foundation came over where Mr. Samson decided to say that Mr. Loria was willing to pay whatever was neccessary. Needless to say they gave me the item and told Mr Samson they would make Mr Loria a new one. This is after Samson claimed "it's not like Mr Loria can get any autograph he wants!". The Marlins treat there fans like sh*t.

Worst Bullpen in Marlins History
Unless you have names like Braden Looper or Armando Almanza or Vic Darensburg or Jesus Sanchez. You definitely do not have the worst Marlins bullpen of all time. Its always nice to have new fan...

The Mermaids
This team is starved for media attention.... This was probably their idea... Its called viral marketing!
-
Griffey
This clears the way for a veteran presence in LF. I wouldn't put it past the Marlins!

Marlins Pursuing Rhodes
Ani for 2 months of Fuentes? No way. He had a torn labrum. Baseball's worst injury. The Marlins wouldn't even be jeopardizing their future because Sanchez has no future. This is a chance to get something back in return for damaged goods. It doesn't seem the organization feels as pessimistic on his recovery as you do. Medically it's impossible for them to even make positive projections on a recovery. This is not Tommy John surgery. The percentage of pitchers who go on to have solid major league careers after a torn labrum is almost non-existent. Don't believe me? Provide counter-evidence. The Marlins' reluctance to trade him here is probably due to him having good stuff and not pitching in MLB since his injury. However the fact that we've seen no real madical advancements in the field and that precedent indicates little to no success makes the Marlins' decision highly questionable when a player is being offered in return that could help them this season. Curt Schilling in 1995

Re-Acquire Willis?
Willis is damaged and will never be the same. Not necessarily physically but mentally. The worst thing you can do to a player like that is change what made him successful, which is exactly what they are doing by changing his delivery. Willis needs to get back to his roots, find the leg kick, have fun, and hell be all right.

Dallas Mcpherson
It was just an observation... With Jason Wood playing third who usually plays first and Mcpherson playing first when he usually plays third just seemed like something of note with all of Jakes struggles.

Dallas Mcpherson
Anyone notice that he was playing first base today?

Gaby Hernandez
What happened to him? He was our top pitching prospect.

A crazeeee idea (?)
Hammer cant stay on the field even though he is playing the second to least physically demanding position on the field. How is he suppose to stay on the field when he will be playing arguably the hardest position on the field?

Pitcher hitting eight!
Alfies has a career slugging percentage of .343 kendall has better numbers.
-
Pitcher hitting eight!
The Marlins I believe would be better served by hitting the pitcher in the eight hole, and hitting amazega in the nine spot. Even though runs have not been a problem for the Marlins this might add people on base when Ramirez come up. Discuss!
-
Quote from Pressley
In defense of Uggla, both Jim Leyland and Tony LaRussa have used a power hitter in the two spot when they did not have a prototypical high on base percentage hitter.

Where does our system rank overall
It seems as if we have all of these great pitchers always coming out of our system and yet they are never ranked very high. Is there a negative bias against the marlins farm system. While looking at overall rankings it seems like the Marlins never have many top ranked prospects. Whats the deal?
