  1. Reminds me that I am 30 years older than when I went to the first opening day. Aaargh
  2. I know this takes the luster off of the CHI CHI signing, but so be it.
  3. Maybe we found our CF-he has played every position except catcher. We love these versatile guys and we could "pivot them to a place never even thought of? The Marlins signed infielder Alex De Goti to a minor league deal, according to his transactions tracker at MLB.com. De Goti, 28, has spent his entire career with the Astros thus far, getting into two big league games in 2021. He spent all of 2022 in Triple-A, hitting .253/.352/.377 for a wRC+ of 87. He’s played every position on the diamond in his minor league career except for catcher, even taking the mound for the occasional mop-up stint. He should serve as a versatile depth piece for the Fish. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/miami-marlins
  4. Every month when the auto draw is paid for my tix, I ask myself what is wrong with me. Oh, yea, I remember, I get priority for the post season. Ha ha. It is hard to have any passion for this organization.
  5. The key is that there are ways never before thought, ways that no one has thought of yet, that may work for us. But it is a secret.
  6. Absolutely-just read it and then went "Huh"
  7. Finally, some clarity: "I guess what I would say is that we're looking to improve the offense, and that position can be almost anywhere on the field," Ng said. "I think right now the way our team looks, we have ways to pivot, whoever that person is, to pivot them elsewhere or pivot them in areas that maybe they hadn't thought of yet." https://www.mlb.com/marlins/news/kim-ng-discusses-marlins-search-for-lineup-upgrades
  8. We have precedent, Jennings from GM to manager happened here, so (fill in the blanks)
  9. Would like to win but losing helps knock the Phillies out of playoffs and that is as good as winning
  10. I got in the car to drive home and turned on the radio and listen to the inning that we got three runs. I almost had an accident
  11. Oh gosh we haven't scored yet. Rain coming and sadly I would rather watch a rain storm than the Marlins.
  12. Sell to the Mas organization. Our franchise just seems to be a tool for MLB to give to chosen few.
  13. Case in point, and most obvious, Tampa. It is not about attendance, it is about management and knowing what and how to run an organization.
  14. Lou, Oh man, this is what happens when I do not have notificiations on and do not get back to the site for a few days. Lou, you do not know me but your remarks (to be kind) had me re-read my comments. First, I was behind the Ng hiring. But, in hindsight, why are we having a discussion, not started by me, about her job performance and having threads "Fire Kim Ng". Again, you do not have to believe me, frankly, who cares. Yet, you delude yourself to not thinking that there were the other factors as part of the discussion in her hiring, in additon to her years working in front office, and most here also see it. Most of our posters did not see the "sexism" in my comments, yet you did. My point was, as we are having this discussion about her performance and whether she should be fired (as per other threads on this site) is if the performance would warrant a serious review of the hiring, would the optics also preclude doing what is best for the organization. It does work both ways, like it or not. That is not 1953, that is today, society and reality. I understand that. I understand that for my professional daughters and spouse, yet we have these discussions also-so again, you do not know me. That does not mean in any way that I did not think she should be hired because she is a woman. Her gender did not matter to me-don't believe me-don't care. It is an honest discussion. I wanted to respond to you because I see many posters understood this and I did remove my personal responses to your insults-I do not need to turn this forum in to that. Others have honestly questioned whether her experience translated itself for this role. I do not know if this is fair, yet she has only been the lead person for a few months, just a few months, and her performance has elicited doubts already. I see Bullet wants to kabosh where this went, but since I was the the trigger, I wanted to have my say. And not to be patronizing, I do enjoy your deep analysis for all things Marlins.
  15. Walking on eggshells with Kim. This is what happens when you hire for optics. Look at all the great press, national coverage from all media, even outside of sports. The organization wanted this. "Historic" etc etc. I don't care who is hired, just want someone to do the job. After all the stuff wears off, we are back in the shadows, rarely talked about, although with a few competent moves we could contend, instead we are still on the outside. This happened with Jeter also, we got all the recognition his name brought except no experience. Three main stars shipped off and only the Ozuna trade provided anything-ok, yes, payroll relief for Stanton, that was not used for Marte but rather for Garcia and Soler. So, in each case, Jeter and Ng, the lack of experience and/or ability has cost us.
  16. Of course, why wouldn't you start someone with a .500 major league average? Logical.
  17. As many blown games we have had, Floro coming back is still not the answer at closer. This is the guy who last year had an almost 29% blown save percentage. (6 out of 21). That projects to a blown save almost every third time out. And this is our savior?
  18. The first thing we said in our home when the TV guys were saying how well the Marlins know Alfaro was he loves to go after the first pitch. So, throw him a damn meatball.
  19. Still need him to have that clean Wall Street haircut that he originally had.
  20. He looks terrible. He has not been the same since he started with the homeless look.(no offense to the homeless).
  21. If it's in it works
  22. Screw it. All caps, still doesn't work
  23. I'm watching and that was the code
  24. Put it in, didn't work
