Anderson looks terrible

Been saying for quite some time that he’s not a long-term major league 3B. Or long-term anything for that matter. To her defense, NG has said she’d like to see more from him before considering an extension so I think she agrees.

Would have liked to see them pick up someone like Chapman to solidify third but obviously this team isn’t interested in shaking up a process that hasn’t worked as of yet.

BA is an average hitter whose is off to a terrible start. He’s always been limited offensively; he can mash fastballs and is extremely vulnerable to breaking pitches.

By seasons end, his numbers will end up being what they normally are based on facing mediocre pitchers who end up giving him fastballs to hit. That’s where he makes his money.

My bigger worry isn’t about BA or 3B itself, it’s the approach/philosophy of the entire offense. We have 2 maybe 3 guys who can truly give you consistently good ABs. The rest of the lineup Is extremely streaky by nature.

The hitting approach needs a major shakeup. Idk if that’s Donny, Rowson, whoever, but the approach thus far has been horrendous. Pair that with inefficient lineup construction and the result is incompetence with RISP

You can see Wendle has a completely different hitting approach coming from a successful team.  I'm hoping it doesn't change by seasons end. The Marlins seem to try to just swing as hard as possible and obliterate the ball versus taking what's being given to them and work the pitcher a little bit.

Bingo. Even guys like Jesus Sanchez and Jazz have shaky approaches. They’re supremely talented so they make it work, but it seems like our guys are backwards consistently in how they’re expecting to get pitched.

I don't know if ya'll remember or how many of you will agree with me but remember when Jazz first came up?  He took a ton of pitches that were balls and only started getting rung up because it seemed umps had this vendetta against him for some reason (there was seriously an article written pondering why so many balls were called strikes against Jazz). Eventually he did start swinging away because otherwise he'd have had no chance to ever hit a ball it seemed it was so awful of a strike zone for him but then even when last year  he got off to his hot start he was being more patient and then waiting on "his pitch" before swinging. Then after about a full year of being in our "wonderful" hitting program he was up there swinging away at nearly everything and anything and trying to obliterate every ball.  It really does seem like that's what they teach these dudes and it DOESN'T WORK.  i know Wendle is not some HOF material but man, it's painfully clear to see his at bats are just different than everyone elses (not counting Garcia and Soler because they are the high K type already when they came over).

frustrating

I told you people ages ago that I'm not signing Brian Anderson to a long term contract unless it were extremely team friendly.

If I recall this time last year (or at some point in May) I believe I had said the only offensive piece that isnt or shouldnt be replaced was Jazz (cause of his extreme potential) and Marte (cause of his production).

Everyone else should be looked at as tradable and / or upgradable.

Obviously Marlins dont share that approach with the entire infield basically.

I don't know why you're acting like you made some amazing prediction that nobody else said, when we all literally said we'd sign him to a team friendly deal in case he broke out.  Nobody was ever arguing for some mega deal for him just because?

He needs a haircut and a shave, but I wouldn't say he looks terrible.

His gameplay however has been abhorrent.

He looks terrible.  He has not been the same since he started with the homeless look.(no offense to the homeless).
