  1. Clearly, we win the trade. I have refreshed this multiple times and he has yet to miss hitting the ball solidly.
  2. You mean like expecting him to go to the mound and get people out.
  3. Good, good, good
  4. This would not be a PR move by Jeter, but guys, this is a huge PR move based on the fact that for the past few hours this is all that is being talked about on MLB radio, and I assume on the TV network. Massive positive everything about the hiring, from the historic aspect, to the pure quality of the hiring and her qualifications to everything about the Marlins organization from top to bottom. It is all covered and the stain of the Loria years (with Samson) is clearly been removed. How this affects player desires to consider Miami, we do not know and she is known for being a really good and tough negotiator. Love the look of the future of this organization.
  5. From what I have seen, you can only stream if you have fuboTV.
  6. So, what has been the rainfall amount since 2 PM in Chicago?
  7. Would love to see Angel Hernandez
  8. Absolutely about giving the Sox the exclusive market. At least we start the series (assuming we win this WC) on Tuesday, putting Sandy, Sixto and Pablo in line. Going to be a bit nippy if it is Friday night
  9. This is all about market ratings. Sox play at 3 today and that would split the market, presumably.
  10. Darn. Probably won't rain that much. Looking at the forecast and radar, looks like scattered fast moving showers. https://www.wunderground.com/wundermap?radar=1&wxstn=0&wxstnmode=tw Overly cautious. Would hate to push to Saturday then have to squeeze the pitching staff.
  11. This brings to mind the matter of the home plate ump. Yesterday was one of the more consistent performances from a HP ump I have seen recently. They have been, overall, horrible around the league. Nibbling and not getting the calls on the edges forces more pitches to the middle. So, hopefully, we jump out ahead and just fire away when the shadows start creeping in. Can't hit a 100 mph fastball when you can't see it.
  12. Seems to me that the thinking is to save the more experienced Pablo instead of putting Sixto in a must win situation. But if you feel better about Pablo in such a situation, then the McKeon rule should apply as it did in 03 deciding on not saving Beckett for a game 7 and going with him to end it in six and not even get there. I think Pablo was originally penciled in for game 2, but they did not call to tell me why the change.
  13. Isn't it surprising that so many people of a certain age group have no idea what a TV antenna is
  14. Sinclair should have made deal sooner, now they have to pay more to show the WS champs
  15. It was so easy watching last night and we kept saying on two strikes "slider down and away" and poof just like everyone here knows, he can't stop swinging at it.
  16. To that I add: "Only time will tell"
  17. Watching MLB this morning and the Marlin highlights were one hit by us for two runs, two Matt Joyce catches and both Philly runs. That is it. No Miggy HR, no Starling HR but other games they show every ground ball out. We still get minimal recognition even after taking 5 out of 7 in a rare, hugely important, 7 game series. Even on MLB.COM the Marlins are not even listed in their top stories of the day. Regardless of bias, the Marlin story, the 7 games series and the playoff implications should have made this more than an afterthought in coverage. 18. I have not read this whole thread, but if no one has mentioned it, my mind went back to 2003 and the loss to the Red Sox 25-8 seemed to be a catapult for our run that year. The next day, without researching it, I recall being down either 8-1 or 9-1 again and then a big comeback and we won that game. After a nightmare like last night, need to reach for historical similarities. So, here we go-watch out Phils and the Braves will be cursed for doing what they did last night, breaking every unwritten rule (although I do not agree with any of them).
  19. Stinks. Only makes sense this year and it still stinks to watch it.
  20. FSGO stops and goes and then you are an inning behind real time. I thought is was just my connection, although nothing else has that problem in my office where I watch when not home.. Yesterday's stream was perfect in all respects, almost real time, perfect reception and zero issues. FSGO really does suck, it is only acceptable when there is no choice.
  21. Give Urena some love. He was putting it together and looking real good in the spring. I believe he surprises us and is a much better choice than Yams or Neidert.
  22. A day or two off is not a bad thing. Gives us more time to bring back the major leaguers. Thank you guys, you did your best but.....
  23. Out of the new arms in the pen last night, Bleier looked good to me, but he also has success at this level. Could be a very nice get. Hoyt is a concern. I think he is going to struggle. Got away with a few hangers and certainly got a very generous strike 3 call.
