A 3rd team now involved: The Pirates?
WTF. I don't want to pay any more than 7 million for Lowell.
-
Who will be our next manager?
Art Howe could be on the list.

"Burnett blockbuster would be a big risk for O's"
As I said earlier in the season, in order to accomplish the Barry Zito trade, the Marlins are going to need to give up a very good pitching prospect, and a decent hitting prospect. Hermida would seal the deal, but that is not going to happen. Hayden and Dillon and/or Stokes will get Zito in teal.

Nostradamus Prophesizes McKeon Firing!
Quatrain 35 - Century VII The great fish will come to complain and weep for having chosen, deceived concerning his age: he will hardly want to remain with them, he will be deceived by those (speaking) his own tongue. ========================================================= Let me interpret it in my way. The great fish (Jack McKeon) will come to complain and weep (to FO??) for having chosen (to re-sign), deceived concerning his age (meaning he is too old) he will hardly want to remain with them (the players and organization), he will be deceived by those *players* (speaking) his own tongue (By this Nostradamus might be referring that the players around him have maybe betrayed him as when they ranted anonymously to the media) Ofcourse there are other methods of interpreting his prophecies. Just trying to point something out. +MarlinGuru

Marlins will trade whith in a week
I love it how everyone thinks that Maverick's crude one-liners are always correct.

Expect McKeon to be fired!
I don't see where McKeon has done anything questionable since the ASB. But I still would like to see Robinson replaced. 860094 As long as this team is leading the league in batting average and other offensive stats, I doubt Robinson will be going anywhere. Personally, I think McKeon has to go. This team has been greatly underachieving and is slowly digging its own grave. Our pitching has been awesome, and our hitting has been decent, so the reasons why this team is faltering go deeper than that. It is time for change, and the manager is the first place to start in. I like Jack McKeon's ways, but it is the players that make the team. If they want change, then they should get it.

Are you serious?
I agree with Passion and Hojo. If that mod did it for no particular purpose then she shouldn't be a mod.

Marlins will trade whith in a week
The NY Daily News is not a very reliable source when it comes to trade rumors. I doubt this will happen or is true.

Time for a little realism
I agree that we should trade AJ Burnett because we probably aren't going to resign him in the coming offseason. However, I disagree that Brian Moehler should be traded. He has worked many innings lately and is just plain tired. Some extra rest could possibly do some good for him and we would hope that these are only two unlucky starts against some great offensive teams. Trade AJ? Trade ENC? Trade Lowell? Right. Right. Wrong.

carlos delgado should go after this season.
So you're saying that his defense is not costing us games???? 859248 You poor thing...

This Is The Year
In 2006: 1)Pierre, Delgado, Lowell, Castillo, LoDuca will be one year older. 2)Burnett and Gonzalez will not be here (Yes, I do believe some team is going to disgustingly overpay for him) 3)Jack McKeon most likely won't be here. 4)If Jones and Moehler keep it up one of them will definitely be stolen from us. 5)Encarnacion will probably not be here. This is the year where things have to happen because our team is at its prime. So I suggest to Beinfest and Loria, don't be afraid to make some changes, and don't be afraid to open the wallet a bit more, because this is the closest we will get to contention in the next couple of years. +MarlinGuru

Marlins Interested in Redman
According to the Palm Beach Post, the Marlins are interested in Mark Redman. Redman went 14-9 with a 3.59 ERA for the Marlins in 2003, before being traded to Oakland for Mike Neu and Bill Murphy. Jul. 12 - 10:33 am et Source: Palm Beach Post

Why America?
They should just stop saying "I'm American" and say "I'm from the US." Also, they write all these songs (America the Beautiful) that also refer to the US as America.

Why America?
Why do US citizens call themselves Americans and the US, America? Isn't kind of rude to the other nations in Western Hemisphere?

While we are on the subject of F-----R I'd like to send him a shout out. Apparently he has nothing better in his life to do than bother me on AIM. You know, "you have no life", "you and Beinfest4Prez suck", blah blah blah. He's one of the guest on the board so be sure to send him a shout out. ENC!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's funny how people always think that hitters can revive their career years. Encarnacion is a career .265 hitter and last year he batter .236. Hitters always end up hitting near their average. Also, there's no need to get feisty over it. Grow up, mature, and find some tactfullness in your life kid. So, was Encarnacion healthy last year? 843635 No, but he still has always been a mediocre hitter, injured or not.

time to trade enc
I agree with Ramp. We need to see what teams are willing to give up for him. Maybe a solid closer/reliever or maybe we can package him in a trade with someone else (AJ, Lowell, etc.) to acquire a big bat. 843608 Why trade a big bat for a big bat? Enc is a crucial piece of this offense right now with Lowell bombing. If Lowell were himself I'd do a trade. But Enc is to important right now. 843619 As I said before. A career .265 hitter like Encarnacion (who is in a hot streak) will not be enough to make a decent playoff push. We need a left-handed powr hitter, preferrably a lefty. 843626 Generally, left handed power hitters are what you might call a lefty. 843632 Sorry, made a mistake. Edited it.
