  1. What happened to this guy? http://www.baseball-reference.com/m/martira02.shtml
  2. I find the 97' one beautiful. Its actually wearable.
  3. As of now the only people as far as pitching goes that I would like to resign are Moehler and Jones. Somebody will probably dearly overpay for Jones, and you can't really expect a better season than the one he had because of his age. However, Moehler proved very solid for us, especially during the first half, and I believe he could be our fifth starter. Valdez has to go, period. Beinfest should re-sign Gonzalez to a 2-3 year contract maybe about 5 million per year wouldn't be that bad. However, someone will again dearly overpay and keep him out of our reach. I would like to see Lenny Harris back one more year.
  4. Burnett leads list of Marlins' free agents 10/27/2005 11:00 PM ET By Joe Frisaro / MLB.com MIAMI -- A.J. Burnett, the winningest pitcher in Marlins history, was one of seven Florida players to file for free agency on Thursday. Coming off an up-and-down 12-12 season with a 3.44 ERA, Burnett promises to become one of the most sought-after pitchers on the market. The Marlins have no intentions of signing Burnett after the right-hander had a fallout with the club following some critical comments he made the last week of the season. With a 49-50 career record, Burnett has the most wins by a Marlins pitcher. The 28-year-old Arkansas native, who boasts a fastball regularly clocked from 98-100 mph, matched his season high with 12 wins in 2005. He also holds the Marlins' record for most career strikeouts, 753, including 198 this season in 32 starts. In 2001, Burnett threw a no-hitter against the Padres in a game where he walked nine and hit a batter. Other Marlins to file for free agency are outfielder Juan Encarnacion, shortstop Alex Gonzalez, pinch-hit specialist Lenny Harris along with pitchers Brian Moehler, Paul Quantrill and Ismael Valdez. Encarnacion, coming off a .287 season with 16 homers and 76 RBIs, promises to attract interest from several clubs. He is not expected to return to Florida. Gonzalez, one of the best fielding shortstops in the league, batted .264 with five homers and 45 RBIs. In the final week of the season, he underwent arthroscopic surgery to remove a bone chip from his right elbow. Harris, who turns 41 on Friday, has expressed interest in returning to the Marlins. He batted .314 with one home run and 13 RBIs. Moehler, who may return as a potential fifth starter, went 6-12 with a 4.55 ERA, appearing in 37 games with 25 starts. He logged 158 1/3 innings. Valdez missed the first half of the season with a broken bone in his right leg. The veteran right-hander appeared in 14 games with seven starts and went 2-2 with a 5.33 ERA. Quantrill played for three teams in 2005 -- the Yankees and Padres before joining the Marlins as a free agent in September. The veteran appeared in six games for Florida, going 0-1 with an 8.44 ERA. This story was not subject to the approval of Major League Baseball or its clubs.
  5. If we could get the Big Cat as our hitting coach, THAT would be awesome.
  6. OMG, noooooo! OMG I miss Jack. *cut myself and become suicidal*
  7. It is so damn close... Dontrelle has more wins, better ERA, and less run support.
  8. Oceans Twelve was horrible. I walked out about 30 minutes into the movie. Also some horror movie I was forced to watch with some little kid.
  9. Who takes Univision seriously?
  10. Dominican pitching is rather flacid compared to the Cuban one. However, both teams have a hell of an offense.
  11. Career .260 hitter. He could play almost any position but he was a shortstop.
  12. You'll get over it. I know the feeling. PS When I first read the title of the thread I was like WTF.
  13. Cuban radio also reported that Perez said US officials would not allow the team from the Communist nation, a US political foe, to arrive more than one day in advance of their opening game at San Juan. ??The United States refused permission to visit until the last moment,'' Perez said. What the f*ck? Asses.
  14. I flip flopped my opinion on Jack constantly, but he was a good manager. Thank you for you kindness. Your tenure was wonderful.
  15. I want Pinella. This team needs fire. I've liked those hot streaks that Devil Rays have gone on.
  16. I would hate to see Mark Wiley go. He has been awesome for us.
  17. Glad to see that Beinfest is taking out the trash. :thumbup
