Livan can pitch for Puerto Rico if he chooses to
Livan will play for Cuba again, when hippos can fly. They have a ton of way better pitchers than Livan on their team.

ESPN1000 says Cubs close to getting Pierre
1. Pierre 2. Louie 3. Miggy 4. Carlos 5. Hermida 6. Lo Duca 7. Conine 8. Andino/SS That's a great lineup. Well it's a good lineup if they hit. You're basically taking last year's lineup, swapping Lowell with a rookie (albeit a talented one), swapping Enc with Conine, and swapping SeaBass with a rookie that probably won't produce more than he did. I'd take that. Nobody in their right mind would pay all of Mike Lowell's contract. I think we would have to pay atleast 3 million for a team to seriously consider him. Even if we pay 3 million we would be saving around 12 million in two years, which would be fine.

ESPN1000 says Cubs close to getting Pierre
It would be foolish to trade Pierre and not Lowell. If Pierre is traded this team will be heading in the wrong direction...

Could Lowell or JP be packaged with Admin Beinfest?
WTF, now Beinfest is tripping on us... Whatever, if we can have Penny back I'd hit it.

What would you like to see happen this offseason?
1) Resign Gonzalez, Alfonseca, Moehler (as reliever) 2) If Lowell is retained and Gonzalez stays, then you place Cabrera in LF as long as Lowell is productive. 3) Acquire a veteran SP with an ERA around 3.00-4.9 that can throw over 170 innings. Oh heck...This I want to be our depth. C- Paul LoDuca 1B- Carlos Delgado 2B- Luis Castillo 3B-Mike Lowell SS- Alex Gonzalez CF- Juan Pierre LF-Miguel Cabrera RF- Jeremy Hermida SP Josh Beckett SP Dontrelle Willis SP Jason Vargas SP ???? ???????? SP Scott Olsen > B. Moehler incase of DL

I want more
Im getting the feeling that the FO wants to give Lowell a second chance.

Your 2006 Marlins Starting Rotation
I have to believe the FO will acquire at least starting pitcher, either through free agency or via a trade, and re-sign Moehler as insurance. It's doubtful you'll see three (counting Vargas) rookie pitchers as part of the opening day roster in 2006, which is not to say you won't see the three of them in the rotation at some point in the season. Then there's always Nic Ungs who continues to tear it up wherever he pitches... An ERA in the mid 3's at AA Carolina isn't exactly tearing up. He''s 26, so I think he would be a reliever at best. Chris Resop for closer? Nah.

Your 2006 Marlins Starting Rotation
Moehler in place of Olson and you got a deal Why Johnson over Olsen?

Your 2006 Marlins Starting Rotation
***SEE SIG*** Beckett: Our beloved ace, we hope will stay healthy in 2006, and he could have a monster season. Willis: If he has a season just like the one he had, or gets close, we will be in good shape. Vargas: We've seen the kid work, he's got talent, and in a few years he'll be a threat, but he's ready for the bigs. Olsen: Olsen showed he has the stuff to pitch on our team. He just has to prove he can be healthy. Josh Johnson: We haven't seen much of him. Im guessing he will battle the spot with Moehler.

Florida Marlins 2005 Review
If we keep Lowell, I would hate to waste the BEST third-base glove in the majors in another position.

Juan Pierre, a look back and into 2006
When you started talking about how horrible the infield grounds was, I stopped reading. The infield at DS is at MLB standards, and the grounds crew we have is bar none the best in baseball. Its not the grounds crews fault that Pierre is not getting infield singles.

Ramon Martinez
I can't believe he would retire at such a young age. And he is the brother of Pedro Martinez...
