  1. As many as 20 Florida State football players will be suspended from playing against Kentucky in the Dec. 31 Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl, as well as the first three games of the 2008 season, for their roles in an alleged cheating scandal involving an Internet-based course, a source with knowledge of the situation said Tuesday morning. Florida State officials are expected to announce the results of the investigation this week. The source said university officials determined Monday night the exact number of football players who will be suspended. The university isn't expected to immediately reveal the identities of the student-athletes involved in the alleged cheating. "If the players fight the suspensions, they'll risk losing all of their eligibility," a source with knowledge of the situation said Tuesday morning. The source said student-athletes in several other sports also were implicated in the cheating scandal. The investigation already has led to the resignations of two academic assistance employees who worked with FSU student-athletes. The school revealed in September that as many as 23 student-athletes were given answers before taking tests over the Internet. Further investigations revealed additional student-athletes were involved in the cheating, according to the source. The school's investigation found that a tutor gave students answers while they were taking tests and filled in answers on quizzes and typed papers for students. Florida State president T.K. Wetherell, a former Seminoles football player, reported the initial findings in a letter to the NCAA in September. Wetherell ordered an investigation by the university's Office of Audit Services in May after receiving information an athletics department tutor had directed one athlete to take an online quiz for another athlete and then provided the answers. The tutor implicated in the audit told investigators he had been providing students with answers for the test since the fall of 2006, according to a university report. The school announced in October that athletics director Dave Hart Jr. will resign Dec. 31. Wetherell appointed State Rep. William "Bill" Proctor interim athletics director. Proctor also is a former FSU football player. The school announced last week that longtime football coach Bobby Bowden had agreed to a one-year contract extension through the 2008 season that will pay him at least $1.98 million. Bowden, who is in his 32nd season at the school, is major college football's all-time winningest coach with 373 career victories. Florida State also designated offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher as Bowden's eventual successor. Fisher's new contract calls for him to replace Bowden by the end of the 2010 season. If Fisher isn't named FSU's new coach by then, the school's booster organization would owe him $2.5 million. Under the terms of the new contract, Fisher would owe Seminoles boosters $2.5 million if he leaves the school before the end of the 2010 season. The Seminoles struggled for the fourth consecutive season in 2007, finishing 7-5 overall, 4-4 in ACC play. It is the fourth consecutive season they failed to win 10 games, after winning at least 10 games in 14 consecutive seasons, from 1987 to 2000. Mark Schlabach is a college football reporter for ESPN.com. Information from the Associated Press was used in this report. link When will FSU players learn?

I'm just really curious what the fall out will be. Will there be a witch hunt for these guys who are named or will the fact that many of the game's biggest names are being named make people realize that it was just a reality of the game during the era. It sucks to take what might be a defeatist attitude, but it is what it is. I'm hoping for Tom Brady to find his way to the report. Unexpected huh... :whistle
  5. I hope this is good news. Now that I don't live in Florida, I feel a lot more connected to my Florida teams especially the Marlins. Please get the deal done. Miami Marlins :confused oh well, better than no Marlins.

I just picked up MLB 2K7 at work on clearnce. 19.98, Great price. I now own Resistance, Warhawk, and MLB 2K7. I'm always open to a match.
  7. I can't imagine not being a Marlin fan but how much can a Marlin fan really take. They always say they really want a statdium, we want to be competitive, and we have a to the fans. What do they do. They consatntly get rid of our "stars" or fan favorites, drag their feet on the stadium. The more this happen the more I don't hate the people that don't go to the games. Maybe the are thinking realisticlly and maybe we are leting our die hard feelings get in the way. Who knows. At least a little team in South Florida called the Florida Marlins that take the field every summer. That is the one thing that has been a constant. I can't say I will not follow them or not be depressed when they lose or not jump around like an idiot when we get a walk off. My first game was in 1994 when I was 10 years old. They played the Cardinals. There was a bench clearing brawl and Alex Arias hit a HR, how much better could it get. Here is to another season in the sun. Lets go FISH!!!
  8. We could've used that money for Miggy. We have to do something??? :guillotine
  9. I wouldn't cease to buy the shirt just because it's censored. However, uncensored is clearly winning and invalidating the results would make the whole voting process a sham. If you're going to do it censored despite our votes to the contrary, don't have us vote. It wasn't just a vote. I said to post if something was a deal breaker or not. Nobody said uncensored was a deal breaker. There were people who voted uncensored and said it wasn't a deal breaker. There then were concerns from several people saying they really wish it would be censored. Nobody said otherwise. Ergo, since Uncensored was not winning by a substantial amount, I decided to go with censored unless people spoke up. Obviously, people have spoke up and I said I'd change it. If you're still interested in getting one Night Phantom since it will be uncensored, send me a PM with the shirt size you want. And I'll get onto finishing it up in a couple days. So are the shirts uncensoresd now???
  10. In some ways, censored material is even more offensive than uncensored. If that makes any sense. How about "less is more"
  11. God, I need a Wii. I'm gonna wait til after Thanksgiving and see what kind of deals are out there. I mean, everyone else in the country should have one by now. Not so true. I work at a national retail chain and it is still the top question. Do you have any Wii? Anyway, Galaxy is great game. If you don't have it yet you should get it a Toys R us. If you buy the game you get a $25 gift card. Linited time offer.
  12. Teal outline is cool.
  13. I like censored because I would like to wear anywhere and not have to worry about some kid seeing it.
  14. I rented Manhunt 2 for the wii to figure out what all the press was about. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be gore wise. They probably made them censor it a lot. Personally I think over reacted about a game that no one was going to play anyways. This is a poor made game . I hated playing it. It was not fun and the controls were very unresponsive. I wanted to throw up due not to extreme violence but a really poorly made game. The world overreacted on this one as usual. IMO
  15. Keep on bringing the price down :notworthy
  16. I don't care about your money. You work for me. GET TO WORK
  17. This shirt would be perfect for when I go to New York to do sight seeing.
  18. I just moved from G'ville, dammit :confused If it were just "f*** everybody on the Mets" - Hanley Ramirez itd be much better. That makes more sense actually. It's getting to the point and people will be able to read it quickly.
  19. Despite the problems I had with Girardi's management of the team in 2006, he was way better than our current manager. I have never seen a manager like Fredi who pretty much never argued calls more than once or twice a year. He also rarely left his seat. I felt that Girardi was the one who never argued calls and sat on his ass.
  20. I was hoping for a better update. oh well.
  21. I like the wii but it leaves A LOT to be desired. I'm still waiting for the good games like Galaxy and SSB:B. I also have a PS3 and think its great. The PS3 is working on things to make it compete with the 360 feature wise. I think PS3 will start meeting it potential by the beginning of 08. Resistance is an awesome game BTW.
  22. Dear Jeff, Even before the championships you were and will always be my favorite baseball player of all-time. You were my first baseball card that I can remember. You were my first professional athlete autograph, at about 1994 you were at an autograph signing with other marlins(Gary Sheffield, Kurt Abbott. etc) in Key West at the Casa Marina hotel. After that I was a hooked on baseball and the Marlins. When I was in little league I played Left field because of you. You are going to be sorely missed by us Marlin fans. I think it would be cool if the Marlins would offer you a "fake contract" so you can then retire right after signing it to be able to retire a Marlin. Congratulations on your great career! #19 will always be TEAL and BLACK I will also be wearing my Conine Jersey on Monday,Oct. 1st 2007 to pay tribute to Jeff Conine for all he has done for the Marlins and South Florida. Fan Forever, Luis
