Marlins > Yankees.... again
Delgado doesn't stand a chance of making it. Not that he doesn't have the numbers but you have Pujols and Derek Lee at 1st. No chance. Sorry. 837795 The Yanks will have 4 once Matsui is voted in. 838895 Don't you think that Jeter will get more votes? 838968 If the balloting is open in Japan...then it is Matsui for sure

these umpires are b*** s**t
the home plate umpire is brother of randy wolf which he always makes contiversial calls against the marlins.this guy is an a**hole.why dont they send this a**hole to the american leauge to umpire sheesh. 838062 I agree completely on this note....Jim Wolf should not be allowed to umpire any games in which his brother's division is involved...no matter how good of an umpire he is....Any NL East contest should not have Jim Wolf umpiring at any base

The perfect trade!!
better be alot of cash but I doubt the NYY would do it anyways. 838029 Doubtful they would do it but it would need to be in the range of the NYY paying about 20 mil a year of his salary and the Marlins on the hook for 5 LOL

LoDuca to sit today
Willy for God's Sake! Criminal we took him out of playing by bringing him up and not playing him. (Dillon re-visited.) And he had to pass up the Minors All-Star game for no reason. Jack sucks. 836496 I don't think it is Jack's call to bring up the kids from the minors, is that Beinfest's call ???

LoDuca to sit today
According to WQAM last night's broadcast, DVH (blah!) said that Paul LoDuca will be taking the afternoon off.... Who should start...Treanor or Willy???

Home-Run Derby
That's idiotic. The Domican Republic and US both have more than one player who belongs in the derby. 835195 Totally agree....how bout Puerto Rico...they should also have more than one rep...

Home-Run Derby
Major league baseball is going international for its Home Run Derby on All-Star weekend. Instead of having four players from each league, the commissioner's office said Friday it will have eight players represent their native countries at the July 11 event. Major league baseball plans to formally launch plans that day for its first World Baseball Classic, a 16-team event during spring training next year. This year's Home Run Derby is at Detroit's pitcher-friendly Comerica Park, where the All-Star game will be played the following night. The top four players in the first round advance to the semifinals, and the top two in the semis move on to the final. Source: Associated Press Any comments???

So where's the Todd Jones for All-Star campaign?
They took 4 closers last year.. Cordero and Issy are shoe-ins.. If they take 4 again, the last 2 would come down to (in my opinion), Brad Lidge, Billy Wagner and Todd Jones. Those 2 have more saves but Jones has a whole run on them in ERA. Hopefully he can go on a run of saves and get a few before the AS break. 835065 Unfortunetly I don't think they will be taking four closers this year, too many starting pitchers are having good years....so i think at most they will take 2-3 closers and a bunch of starters..... Jones is probably top 5 right now in the NL but not in the top 3...not enough save opps....even though Cordero is pitching out of his mind...15 saves in the month that is amazing....so he is well deserving

Miami Radio Ratings In
They are currently in a little bit of disarray since the whole Mandich thing blew up in their face, but with a broadcast team of Boog and Joe Rose or Ceffalo and Rose, I think the Dolphins will be an easy sell to some FM station for 790....a new radio station with good ratings isn't born overnight...give them some time....560 been around many years now... 834962 The dolphins should be an easy sell to an FM station, however there has been no announcement of a new home yet. It is expected that Jefferson-Pilot's 101.5 Lite FM or Majic 102.7 will get a shot since 790 is owned by J-P and leased to The Ticket....but that is never for sure. As far as WQAM goes, it has been almost a year (around August 2004 was sign-on for The Ticket) and WAXY's ratings are nothing. WQAM had ratings pretty soon after it launched sports in 1995. That is why WIOD is currently doing news and not sports anymore. This is actually not a new race, back when music was on AM radio, 560 WQAM used to beat down 790 WFUN in the ratings. 834967 Ok now your going before my team...WFUN...never heard of them....LOL

10 games before the stretch
7-3 sounds great...winning all three series 2-1

Miami Radio Ratings In
Radio and Records just posted the second Spring book for this year. WQAM (mainly because of the Marlins being on nightly) is way ahead of 790 The Ticket. 560 WQAM vs. 790 WAXY Spring Book #1: 2.2 v. 0.9 Spring Book #2: 1.8 v. 0.8 Looks like the Marlins made the right move financially to stay with WQAM. 790's Dolphins Radio Network is in shambles right now as it has no affiliates signed for the upcoming season and a contractual obligation to find an FM station to put the Dolphins on in Miami. The Marlins continue to sail past Spring and into Summer. 834957 They are currently in a little bit of disarray since the whole Mandich thing blew up in their face, but with a broadcast team of Boog and Joe Rose or Ceffalo and Rose, I think the Dolphins will be an easy sell to some FM station for 790....a new radio station with good ratings isn't born overnight...give them some time....560 been around many years now...

Still no word on who is being sent down
The Florida Marlins activated Josh Beckett from the 15-day disabled list, making the announcement about two hours before the right-hander's scheduled start Thursday night against the Atlanta Braves. Beckett was on the DL with a blister on the middle finger of his pitching hand, the sixth time in his four full major league seasons he was sidelined by such a malady. To make room for Beckett, the Marlins optioned right-handed reliever John Riedling to Triple-A Albuquerque. Riedling was 4-1 with a 7.04 ERA in 23 appearances with Florida this season, and was the winner in the Marlins' 6-5, 13-inning victory Wednesday night over Atlanta. Source: AP

The Key to Winning is Just Scoring 4 Runs a Game
Im just saying that in games that Josh Willingham plays in 2005 we are 2-0 just sayin... 833367 good stat...he should play somewhere tonight...even though Enc came through with the GW RBI last night
