Caprenter most likely has it locked up according to basically everything I have read and seen, but if Dontrelle leads us into the playoffs by pitching the way he has been lately, and Carpenter has a few more outings like he did last night, well, D-Train deserves it.

In his 2 starts this month Roger has a 7.88 ERA in 8 innings. Given up 7 walks and struck out only 4. Hopefully this isn't the game where he turns things around. Hopefully our hitters are patient and Roger keeps doin what he's been doin this month!

Just listened to Mike & The Mad Dog's interview with Tommy and thought you might like to see a summary of what he had to say! Some of Tommy Hutton's comments: Why havent we clicked on all cylinders this year: He talked about Lowell's bad year, Pierre's bad first half, the starters how they should be winning 20 games but have been inconsistent (Burnett, Beckett) About Dontrelle: Mike Francesca said he reminds him of Vida Blue and if he was in NY he would be an enormous star and described him as a "throwback" baseball player. About D-train's homer, Lo Duca was on first and remarked to the Astro 1B and said whoa 3-1 count if he leaves this pitch out over the plate it's gone.....sure enough! Tommy's thoughts on Jack: He loves him b/c of his old school style. He might not always tell guys what they wanna hear but he will tell the truth.......He says there's a group of guys who could care less about Jack, but they will go out and play hard for him cuz they wanna win for him......On retiring, he thinks he'll be back if the team finishes strong, if not he'll be back next year in some sort of position with the club. On the playoff chase: Tommy gives an edge to us b/c Houston is having trouble scoring, Ensberg injured, Philly he likes especially in their ballpark, but it will be interesting when they come to us where we more likely to win....if the Marlins stay consistent, they have the best shot....... About postseason: With the rotation, we have a really good shot. (obviously) We'll scare the Cardinals a lot...... Cabrera: Miguel Cabrera is an absolute star, runs around with a big smile and loves third base. THey'll probably have to trade Lowell and eat contract in the offseason. About the stadium: He hasn't heard much positive lately about a new stadium......the ownership has done everything they can to put a good product on the field and if the people have more concerns about the Dolphins, then the stadium probably won't happen. Vegas was discussed but Tommy has questions there.

Good theory! It's true though. We've never really taken control of this race (dangerous) and yet we have never really given it all up. (promising) I hope we can at least take control vs. Houston. I'm not sure we can just be a tortoise the rest of the way especially playing every other contender.
