How to lose a ballgame
Until how many blown games do we look at the pitching coach? Starters hasn't been very good either. I can live with 1 or 2 guys always pitching bad but if everyone is doing bad the pitching coach has something to do with it.

Marlins vs Braves 5/16
miguel has got to improve on his defense. i love the offense but man do i miss mikey lowell. we have seen miguel do great things but he is on pacr for most errors ever. He's trying too hard, every time a ball is hit to him he thinks it has to be perfect. He just needs to relax.

San Antonio Deadline Countdown
Answer due on Texans' proposal to Marlins Team remains focused on Dade By Sarah Talalay South Florida Sun-Sentinel Posted May 15 2006 San Antonio officials are hoping to get an answer today to their offer to help the Marlins finance a stadium, but it's unlikely they'll get a definitive one. Even Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff, the San Antonio politician leading the effort to lure the Marlins, isn't exactly waiting by the phone. He and other San Antonio officials know the Marlins are focusing on forging a stadium deal in the city of Hialeah and that plenty of issues remain unsettled. LocalLinks "I didn't think they were going to make the deadline," Wolff said, adding he has not received a formal response. Wolff issued today's deadline because he said time was needed to hash out a stadium financing deal and put a measure on the Nov. 7 ballot to ask county voters to extend the hotel and rental car taxes raised to help build the San Antonio Spurs' arena. The taxes could raise an estimated $200 million for a ballpark. Wolff said he was always aware the Marlins' first choice was to remain in South Florida. "They've been fair about that," Wolff said. "They were honest." Although it's unknown precisely how the Marlins, who declined comment, and Major League Baseball will formally answer San Antonio's offer, their focus remains on completing a deal locally with Miami-Dade County and the city of Hialeah. MLB is expected to respond to San Antonio today. Although they were disappointed a last-minute push to gain state funding for the project failed when the Legislature adjourned its session earlier this month before the House would consider it, local officials say they are working to bridge the roughly $100 million gap in a plan for a $430 million stadium. "We're still waiting for the county to finish some of their calculations," Hialeah Mayor Julio Robaina said. "We're moving forward, we're just trying to make up this gap." Miami-Dade County Manager George Burgess said the sides are examining how much land can be secured for the ballpark. He estimated as much as 60 to 80 acres could be needed to accommodate parking. The sides are also studying how much property tax could be captured on development proposed in the area targeted for the ballpark east of Florida's Turnpike, west of 97th Avenue and between Northwest 154th and 170th streets. The county commission and Hialeah City Council would need to approve putting their portions of the property tax toward a stadium. "I do have optimism this one may be possible," Burgess said of a deal being finalized. "It requires some good fortune and for everyone to recognize that to make this work there needs to be participation from everybody." The Marlins have pledged $212 million mainly in rent payments; the county has committed $108 million to $120 million in hotel and sports facilities taxes. Robaina said he is convinced developer Armando Codina will contribute a portion of the 500 acres he owns in the targeted area to the city, which in turn will donate it to the Marlins. Although supportive of keeping the Marlins in South Florida, Codina has not included a stadium in his plans for an industrial and office park in the area. "If the city desires to have a baseball stadium there, then we will work to support their efforts," Codina said in a statement released earlier this month. "It is possible that this could be the best suburban site for the Marlins' stadium, although I have always felt a more urban location would be the most preferable ... We will, if asked, carefully evaluate the situation and continue to work with all interested parties."

5/13 Marlins @ Bucs at the PNC-7:05
That's hammer's fault, if it is in left-center and you don't hear anything you get it. But he can't call it first, he first needs to hear if reggie is calling it. Herges 1-2-3???!!!!! Please don't let him go one more inning.
-
5/13 Marlins @ Bucs at the PNC-7:05
struck out the side. Let's get some runs so herges don't blow it.

Mitre to miss a couple of starts
This means Vargas back in the rotation I would assume... Nolasco instead please. Of course that will make our bullpen even worst but it can't be that much more worst than it is now.

You Manage: Who pitches 8th?
You gotta bring in Joe Borowski. Our three best relief pitchers are Nolasco, Borowski, and Messenger right now. Nolasco and Messenger were used, so Joe Bo has to be the choice. There is no sense saving him for situation that might not ever come. Our offense just tied it up, Girardi needs to bring in the best guy to give our offense one more chance in the ninth to take the lead in a tie ballgame. We never have any save chances in the ninth because Herges and the like blow them in the 7th and 8th. For once I'd like to see Borowski come in with the game on the line, which would have been the eighth inning tonight. It feels like we are wasting our best reliever because he never gets used when it counts. Lets worry about the ninth inning when we get there, but lets atleast get there. You hit it in the nail. :notworthy

5/12 Florida Marlins @ Pittsburgh Pirates
My theory for not playing good at home is that all this rookies want to play well infront of home fans and are putting too much presure in themselves. On the road they don't have to worry about people in the stans and prove themselves infront of them. I believe this will change with experience and maturity.

Interesting Stats On Willis
yes, take SF out of the question. Willis has some much spirit and fellings and being from SF has being hard for him to pitch there. I think he trys to hard to do well there and it back fires.
