  1. These guys really are a TEAM. In every aspect of the word. Thats why I'm scared to trade Jacobs, who has grown up and bonded with the other guys on this team.
  2. Hopefully my kid doesn't get traded before the deadline. :nailbite
  3. wow, that was the first pitcher taken....it's funny b/c we used to complain how we didn't have hitting prospect. Now we have TONS. Think, no one has even picked Sinkbeil, West, Thompson, gaby or allison I considered all those guys. But I wanted to pick a fresh name. Plus, none of them are having seasons to write home about anyways.
  4. Im going with Graham Taylor
  5. Jake, good showing today or no, may be more difficult to trade than some think and the problem becomes for the Marlins if Amezaga is the only guy who can play the middle of the infield and has already been placed in the game in let's say centerfield in the middle of the game, who plays center if Amezaga has to replace someone in the infield or conversely, who plays center if he does. Andino is Amezaga's shock absorber. I suspect the answer that is emerging is that McPherson is learning to play first so Cantu can move to SS or 2nd in an emergency and Helms plays third, or flip flop them. Jacobs is a blessing and a curse but you have to think they can't keep McPherson down much longer and Andino is the odd man out (which in some respects weakens Fredi's hand)/ I've never been so confused when talking on this forum...? What? How did this turn into a middle infield conversation? I'm sooooo confused. :confused Are you trying to say Andino has more trade value than Jacobs, here? :confused seriously

  7. Slow. Not really THAT good. No thanks. Having a hitting catcher who can play the position as well... would simply complete our lineup, and have the only one hole spot at 1st... if Molina was added to our attire... we would be unstoppable at bat. I don't see 1st as a ridiculously glaring hole. Catcher obviously needs an upgrade, but I wouldn't overpay for any of the backstops currently available. I would look at Jacobs for Molina an even deal. The Giants also demanding a pitching prospect should kill the deal immediately.

  9. This is just one of those games that makes you believe man. Tomorrow's game is HUGE. Winning 3 out of 4 in the toughest park in the NL would be outstanding.
  10. Doumit would be awesome, but why in the hell would the Pirates trade him? oh yea...they won't! Who knows? The Pirates front office is obviously clueless after pulling the trigger on that trade yesterday. Anything is possible with them.
  11. Len loves the Marlins. He said this shortly after being hired by the Cubs. "Working with the Marlins is something I could have envisioned for the rest of my career. In the end, it didn't work out that way. Every memory I will have of working with the Marlins and being here in South Florida will be positive." I agree that he has been Chicago-ized over the past 3-4 years. But this organization left an impression on him and his career.
  12. Phillies losing 6-0. Lidge just gave up a grand slam to brian McCann. hopefully he starts falling apart after this game. That would be awesome, though I am a little more concerned about the mets than the phillies.
  13. Phillies losing 6-0. Lidge just gave up a grand slam to brian McCann. hopefully he starts falling apart after this game. Please keep all talk of other teams in the MLB forum. Jeez. Its not like what he's talking about has no effect on the Marlins. I'm not punishing him or anything, but there is already a thread in there about this. Jeez. Im just saying he made one comment about the phillies-braves game, which directly affects the Marlins. Who cares if its not in the MLB forum?

  15. May I say something... On this date in 2003 The Marlins were 53-49 (3rd place) Is it destiny, or just a weird coincidence? How many times in the past month has this been brought up. Whoop dee doo, what is its meaning? The bottom line is that the 2003 team went 38-22 the rest of the way. Does the current team have the ability to do that? Who knows.
  16. a true marlins fan are behind the team in the good and bad times. Being critical of the team when they aren't playing well doesn't bring your loyalty in question. Being realistic about this team's overall play doesn't mean your not behind the team anymore, it just means your evaluating things.
  17. SCREW THIS LETS ALL DRINK THE NIGHT AWAY AND TOMMORW IS A NEW DAY Dude your profile says your 13 years old.
  18. You actually posted this again?. Yeah...problem, fairweather fan? I don't see why you post, period. Do you ever have anything positive to post about the team? Do you ever add anything to a thread? It's funny how we see you a lot more after a loss, instead of after a win. It's almost as if you root against the team. Stop treating people's posts as if they're idiotic. The only thing idiotic is your continuous sarcasm. Woah dude, chiiiiillll. Seems like your channeling all that Marlins rage into outlashes on some forum. You'd be better off bashing the team like they deserve to be.
  19. The Marlins have sure looked great out there! (not) Wish I had your confidence...or the ability to instantly forget these awful games! Don't worry...you'll be posting positively again after the next win. We are collectively stinking it up right now. Our top two pitchers just got roughed up in back-to-back games. Hanley doesnt know what to do with outside pitches. RISP doesn't mean anything to these guys. The list goes on and on.
  20. to relieve pain i sugest punch a wall or playing GTA :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy
  21. People can stick their heads out windows and scream all they want. Our players simply need to be better, thats a lot to ask.
  22. Cox knows that the braves are done. Fredi worked for Bobby. Cox knows he can get some prospects back. Look at their pitchers...Glavine (Old) Smoltz (most likely done) Hampton (if he ever gets back he wont be around long) I am a lifelong Braves fan. I am here because of Dallas (Trahern) I could see a scenario where the Braves trade Mark Tex for a few prospects. There is no reason Cox couldnt go back out and get Tex next year in the free agent market. Nevermind
  23. Dont be surprised at a Marlins Braves deal! You know something!!
  24. Besides being a Marlins killer, the guy has just always seem to twerk me. Flipping the bat after home runs and stuff like that gets annoying reeeeal quick.
  25. Pick:Alfredo Amezaga Reasoning: The guy is just so versatile. Many players can do some of the things he does, few can duplicate everything Fredo brings to the table. He can play almost any position, seemingly flawlessly. He hasn't complained about his lack of starts lately, knowing he's most valuable coming off the bench. He only has two homers this year, both of which were huge (vs. Mets in extras, vs. Nationals to put us ahead late). On top of all that he may be the most valuable locker room guy we have, almost setting the "have fun, but do work" attitude that defines this team. They don't call him amazing for nothing.
