Livan to be released
I'd rather have him in long relief than Hendrickson I remain happy that you are not the Marlins' GM. Well screw you then. Hendrickson is completely worthless. I'm not sure that Livan is. But for financial reasons its a wash (no way we cut Hendrickson loose and pay him to sit at home while dishing out even more money for Livan.

GREAT STATEMENT WIN!!! Lets keep it rolling throughout the weekend.

Are you happy without Manny?
Manny was napping when they told him he got traded. :lol

Did the Marlins fall flat on their face?
I still think we pick up a catcher before September.

Did the Marlins fall flat on their face?
Assuming no deal has been made that we are currently unaware of, I'm highly dissapointed that the FO couldn't make any significant moves today. They may have passed on a BIG opportunity to improve this team, whether with Manny or even a catcher. Blah.

Arthur Rhodes a Marlin!
hopefully he isn't too much of a head case as last nights blowup would lead people to believe.

When you say: "Guys like Uggla, Jacobs, and Ross just don't fit this teams mindset. Guys like Willingham and Hermida have the right mentality," you lose me, OP. Uggla leads all 2d basemen in SLG, and is neck and neck with Utley in OPS. Meanwhile, Hermida is a mediocre MLB rightfielder in all respects, and Hammer, when he's hitting, is an average leftfielder. I don't know what you mean by mindset, but you win baseball games with runs, and Uggla produces as many as any other 2B in the league. If Beinfest leaves, I hope you don't get the job, OP. All of Uggla's stats are skewed by the homerun (which if you read my post, I state is not something you can consistently rely on). Jacobs and Ross also live and die by the long ball, which is fine, but doesn't fit the Admin Beinfest model. Willingham and Hermida at least seem open to drawing a walk here or there, maybe even staying back and spraying it opposite field.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Marlins organization, but it does hurt that we constantly have to subtract in order to add (trading away players for new ones). It certainly helps to be able to drastically improve a position through free agency instead of scouring the trade market. But thats a whole other issue lol.

The guys have just exceeded expectations all season. With two months left in the season, we have grown accustom to this overachieving. But they are now showing signs of what most expected them to be before the season. Its just hard to consistently max out your potential, which we are asking the majority of these players to do.

How about looking at the positives?
THIS TEAM CAN DO THIS!!! These guys have the next two months to prove to us that they're style of play leads to success. What a roller coaster ride of a season! Will the roller coaster crash, or arrive safely at the station? :mis2 Hopefully this isn't Final Destination 3 all over again

How about looking at the positives?
Here's a positive: No matter how much we hate the Mutts and their fans, at some point they will have to die like all other living things. :o

And his name is Dan Uggla?
I think it's back to reality. He isn't making the adjustments he needs to make. Since the week before the Philly series he hasn't made the adjustments. I'm not sure he knows how to. I read an SI article about him a month or so ago. He was quoted at saying he doesn't even know what kind of pitch (fastball, slider, etc.) he hit out of the ballpark a lot of the time. Isn't that odd?

We all know the philosophy of this front office has always revolved around pitching, defense, and a manufacturing offense. Just because we are currently the exact opposite of that, doesn't mean Beinfest & Co. have lost sight of their principles. You know that they are not happy at what they see. They also know that an average catcher or reliever will not put this team over the top. This offseason there will be transactions that bring us closer to the baseball this FO is convinced is the best blueprint for success. Guys like Uggla, Jacobs, and Ross just don't fit this teams mindset. Guys like Willingham and Hermida have the right mentality, but need to start producing at the level most of us feel they are capable of. At least the pitching staff is seemingly well on its way to becoming a quality, unrelenting staff. This isn't about the loss tonight. I'm not just posting something out of bitterness. These high power number, low average, bad defenders are just not part of the blueprint. As much as we love these guys and have seen them blossom into major leaguers, they just aren't the right fit, and Beinfest knows it. I mean we lead the majors in strikeouts and are near the top in errors. We used to pride ourselves in succeeding in those areas. We used to pride ourselves in winning low scoring ballgames. Having pride is areas of the game you can actually control, pitching and defense, rather than home runs, which 95% of the time require an error by the other team.

Marlins looking to deal Jacobs, Gregg and Ross?
Would they just make a f***ing trade already?? Beinfest has been lolligagging around for awhile now.
-
Berardino lists MANY trade targets
It is easier to hit in the NL than it is in the AL so you might se him turn it around Huh??
-
Berardino lists MANY trade targets
If I'm dealing with the Rangers, I don't even talk about Laird. We should aim for Salty, Ramirez, Teagarden in that order.
-
Angels get Tex!!!!
Now we have to deal with Kotchman Im shaking :lol
-
Finally!!
Just being able to string some hits together, keeping the line moving, makes all the difference.
