Pujols to Angels
Man if we get Pujols its going to be sooo awkward sharing the ST complex with the cardinals. lol I bet you Loria and Pujols may be quite familiar with each other because of this connection.

Pujols to Angels
If decision is not in PUjols hands.....does that mean an agreement is already in place?

Pujols to Angels
Can someone do me a solid and tell me what that 10/5 protection is? I'm guessing it's some kind of list of teams he would/wouldnt accept a trade to or something. Yes? No? lol When a player has 10 years of service time & has spent at least the last 5 on a certain team, he has the ability to decline any trade.

Marlins, Reyes agree to 6 yr/106mil deal
6:37pm: The Marlins came to the meetings with the idea of bumping their offer to Reyes and setting a deadline, but now they've upped the offer so much that they may not need to give the shortstop a deadline, tweets Jon Heyman of SI.

Marlins, Reyes agree to 6 yr/106mil deal
Now that the Mets have been alerted.....I think a deal might happen tonight. Then we go into the Winter Meetings focused on starting pitching.

Marlins, Reyes agree to 6 yr/106mil deal
Our insistence on refusing to include no-trade clauses should have been discarded like every other aspect of the Florida Marlins.

Marlins, Reyes agree to 6 yr/106mil deal
I'm hoping 6/$100M is good enough to snag Reyes.

Pujols to Angels
Since when do the HEAT have a tough time filling AAA? He was referencing the fact that throughout the season and even in the playoffs the AAA would not be filled until halftime

Marlins, Reyes agree to 6 yr/106mil deal
Took Reyes ~90th overall in fantasy baseball last year. He was a flat out stud the first half of the season. His second half included a couple trips to the DL, but overall.....if we can get this guy READY for 140-150 games next season were looking at a .315 AVG with a .365 OBP, 35+ SB, 100+ runs, 30+ doubles, 10+ triples.....maybe the best lead off man in the game (possibly Ellsbury instead???). This guy is the spark plug this offense has been looking for since the Pierre/Castillo days.

Pujols to Angels
The point being that LeBron did not come to Miami "for the money." He came because he knew could contend for a title every year allwhile lving in beautiful South Florida. The Pujols case is different because he has won two championships in St. Louis and he won't be making his decision with that pressure to win now and often like LeBron. i don't believe our offer to Pujols is much different than what the Cardinals have offered him. This means that the only way Pujols comes to the Marlins is if he values the comforts and excitement of South Florida over his legacy and loyalty to St. Louis.

Pujols to Angels
I'm serious, that would be f***ing epic if Pujols or Reyes walks out in a Marlins uniform. Hey if you wanna add fuel to the fire, you can say that Samson was stalling the other day when he wouldn't comment on Pujols but had no problem talking about anyone else. They have been in contact. Offered a contract he couldnt refuse. Pujols is really in Miami to sign the contract and throw on a uniform. Loria has been saving his pennies over the past 11 years. Like it or not, everyone here has to to admit it would be the story of the century. As epic as that would be, I don't see Pujols slapping St. Louis in the face like that like LeBron did to Cleveland (especially since LeBron only did it for a payday and Pujols wouldn't see a dime). Reyes, however, could totally do that. LeBron actually took less money to come to Miami. LeBron came to the Heat because he felt it gave him the best situation to consistently contend for a title. Now I don't know what s going through Pujols mind right now, BUT the only reasons he would come to the Marlins is MONEY & maybe living in Miami He would be coming to Miami for the exact opposite reason as LeBron.

being at the cody cowbell walkoff was amazing. beating the red sox in 2006 and flipping off the red sox fans. josh willingham walk off on billy wagner. jeff conine grand slam against the mets in 2004. cabrera doubling over the head of cliff floyd in the bottom of the 8th off shingo takatsu. hmmmmm... plenty more. I was at this one....wow that was an amazing game.

Ozzie Guillen Named New Manager
WTF? We gave up Jhan Marinez? I hate this now. Yeah, I don't mind flipping Ozzie martinez as he seems to be a run-of-the-mill middle infielder in the Robert Andino mold, BUT for a team desperate for pitching to get rid of jhan Marinez is silly. This being noted, I am absolutely looking forward to Ozzie Guillen's return to the Marlins.

Ozzie Guillen Named New Manager
Ozzie Guillen is the "end-game" in the Marlins managerial search. This is a guy who could be here a long time if he and Loria can stay on the same page AND payroll sits around $100M.

Ozzie Guillen Named New Manager
Hanley just needs to be healthy. Agreed. However, I am tired of hearing Hanley talk the talk about carrying this team into contention the past few Spring Trainings.

Ozzie Guillen Named New Manager
LeBatard was just on SportsCenter....Pointed out that Loria couldn't get along with "company men" like Girardi and Fredi, and now he's bringing in the "most volatile manager in baseball." Also said that management is praying Ozzie can help spur the resurrection of Hanley Ramirez.
