  1. According to Karl Ravech.....Ozzie WILL be the Marlin's manager.
  2. Ozzie is confounding...
  3. Take it for what it's worth, but the image below is now posted in that thread... It could grow on me.
  4. We should sign Carlos Beltran if we can get a bargain.
  5. What will our outfield look like next season?? We know Stanton will be in RF for a long time, but Will it be Morrison in LF and Coghlan in CF, or....... will Morrison be moved to first or traded? will Coghlan stay in center, move to LF, or be traded? Is Bonifacio our opening day CF?
  6. Wow lets do this baby.... I say we move Gaby Sanchez for a #3 or 4 SP who is major league ready. The front office has decisions to make on: Chris Coghlan, Leo Nunez, Chris Volstad, and Ricky Nolasco. I say we try to package a couple of those players maybe for an above average outfield and/or pitching prospect ready to contribute in the majors.
  7. While talking to Jorge Sedano on 790 this morning, Beinfest explained that he would not elaborate on Cameron's release, but that it was a result of "conduct detrimental to the team."
  8. Everyone watch the replay of Stanton's walkoff and listen for Tommy Hutton's spontaneous reaction.
  9. Am I the only one a bit concerned about having an 80 something year old Jack managing? Concerned about what? That we'll lose 18 of 19?
  10. I can honestly say I'm sorry for the Marlins and their fans. At least we've got two championships to fall back on.
  11. Maybe its just me, but hasn't this issue of not cashing in always been the Marlins problem?? Dating back years, this team has always had problems with "clutch" hitting. It's much worse this year, because we've got just a couple guys on the entire team that are capable of delivering big hits regularly. We may get ten hits, but they are almost all isolated incidents, and we just don't have any boppers who are used to knocking them down when they are set up. And don't expect that to change when Hanley is back, because for as good as he has been as a hitter, he's still not a situational hitter who excels in big situations. This team misses Dan Uggla, Cody Ross, and the good Jorge Cantu. I was with you until that last sentence. Uggla, Ross, and Cantu had their moments, but were strikeout masters.

  13. Firing Gonzalez was, by no stretch of the word, a mistake You could not be more wrong. Fredi Gonzalez is awful. Edwin is OK, but he was managing in AAA for a reason I guess.
  14. Can Heath Bell start? Can Ceda start? Yeah
  15. damn some of you got past the first couple sentences?
  16. We need a roster turnover.
  17. Why trade prospects for some veteran reliever who will be gone after this year? (its not like we are going anywhere) A) What a silly thing to say at the beginning of June. B) We'd get the prospects back through the draft next year anyway depending on the reliever the team wants. A) Agreed, but wow do we look lifeless right now. B) For Heath Bell??? I mean, how much would he have helped us in the Brewers series? Our main problem isn't holding leads in the 9th, its taking a lead into the 9th, Heath Bell maybe will give us 2-3 wins more wins TOPS. And that's not important at the end of the season? For what it's worth, one of the games was blown in the 9th. You're also not taking into account what it does for the rest of the bullpen which is more important. Even if they get Heath Bell to setup out of respect for Leo, it still makes for a really dominant bullpen. Also, you're really not allowed to disagree with this. You're the guy who doesn't trust anyone in the bullpen, right now (for some reason). Shouldn't you be really wanting a reliever? Lol. I would rather have Ceda's career than 1/2 a year of Bell.

  20. There is just no individual consistency in the bullpen right now. There isn't one reliever on the team that has earned any trust from the fans.... You're speaking for the entire fanbase now? What has Leo Nunez done wrong this year? Also, these guys are human just like everyone else. Aside from that bad outing on Monday in a meaningless situation, what has Mike Dunn done to deserve a great lack of trust? I'm pretty confident in Choate against lefties. Has Sanches not been a good long reliever? Seriously, the only two guys this year that have been meh are Webb and Hensley, and Hensley's now out for the year (not that I'm happy about it...I wish him the best in his recovery). You're either trolling or just overreacting. Eric you have been trolling this board since you were in middle school.

  22. I bet you smile after every run they allow just so you can resort back to this thread! Not really. When I first posted this I was just looking for friendly banter. Then personal jabs were taken as if these other posters knew everything and what I had to say was garbage. Instead, the bullpen is garbage.
  23. This bullpen sucks. Their ERA has now risen above the NL average....and it's still clllliiiiimmmbiiinggg.
  24. Chances Mikey makes to the HR derby? I think Tommy said this on FSN-F but you have to actually be an All Star to play in the Home Run Derby, which is why Ichiro is on the ballot for the A.L. with 0 HR's he will make the All Star game but not because of his HR total. So chances are not very good unless he gets voted in by the players. A) Although usually a given, you do not HAVE to be in the All-Star game to participate in the Home Run Derby (There have been a few exceptions over the years). B) There is no fan vote for the Home Run Derby.....participants are chosen behind the scenes by MLB (I'm assuming their criteria includes statistics/excitement level of a player). The ballot on MLB.com is for fun and clearly states that "your selections will not determine the actual participants of the Derby." With that noted.....I think Stanton has a great chance of being selected.
