10 hits.......1 run

This is a new low for us this season. We'll be passed by the Mets soon enough

Situational hitting has become a foreign concept at this point.

Absolutely awful and frustrating.

The heat better lose. Season could be lost. If old hanley shows up there is hope and JJ starts dealing it could be saved. But that's a lot o ifs.....

So I'd be good with RISP?

Ten games over .500...f***ing wasted

This is what's bothered me more than anything. We were good.... REAAALLLLY good a few weeks ago. To just suddenly suck now is worse than sucking all year.

Maybe its just me, but hasn't this issue of not cashing in always been the Marlins problem??

Dating back years, this team has always had problems with "clutch" hitting.

It's a sign of the Loria/Beinfest method of spending money/acquiring talent: Rely heavily on reclamation projects and inexperienced players to carry the team instead of going out and getting a few proven reliable players who can show these kids what to do and take some pressure off of them

We need more professional veterans!

It's much worse this year, because we've got just a couple guys on the entire team that are capable of delivering big hits regularly. We may get ten hits, but they are almost all isolated incidents, and we just don't have any boppers who are used to knocking them down when they are set up. And don't expect that to change when Hanley is back, because for as good as he has been as a hitter, he's still not a situational hitter who excels in big situations.

This team misses Dan Uggla, Cody Ross, and the good Jorge Cantu.

I was with you until that last sentence. Uggla, Ross, and Cantu had their moments, but were strikeout masters.

Look at Polanco...he is a veteran and he hits... but we'll just stick with professional Helms

Yes! Just not the Marlins version of professional veterans, ie cheap reclamation projects.

Yes, the issue itself is that we are relying on too many young players. The veteran players that the Fish have are simply not good enough to carry the team when the young players struggle.

How often do we see guys hitting behind runners? How often do we see the hit and run? Is it because Edwin doesn't trust the hitters? Honestly, why don't we see more productive hitting?
