  1. The deal is Penny for Trot Nixon, 1B-3B Kevin Youkilis/ 2B Freddie Sanchez/ or LHP Jorge De La Rosa with Florida picking from one of those three. Kevin Youkilis!?!?!?! "The Greek God of Walks!" We could trade him to Oakland for Tejada & Zito! :w00t
  2. Apparently not, they're probably spending too much time working on Kevin Hooper's swing. They must not care about Stratton.
  3. Personally, looper isnt the guy i want closing our games because as you can see he almost blew the game yesterday,.,.,and when ever he's up,he doesnt have thet closeres edge..a closer needs to be a guy that comes in and blows you away, looper gets into jams (3-0,2-0)...I would sleep a whole lot better if we had a better closer. Personally, Looper is the guy I want closing games because as you can see he saved the game yesterday,.,.,and when he's in the game he has the closer's edge..a closer needs to be a guy who comes in and gets the job done (results are the bottom line)...I would have nightmares if we had a closer like so many others in the majors. There are many, many teams that love to have Loop as their closer. :banghead

Excuse my english beacuse i don't speak very well. Welcum, Yuze will fit in great ova hear. :w00t
  5. Thanks for your insight into the Dodger's farm system. I didn't realize our prospects were much better than theirs. I seem to remember Edcanes mentioning some rather impressive names while they were in the hunt for Mike Lowell. I may be mistaken however.
  6. We might have some competition for Conine. The Baltimore Sun mentions the Dodgers having an interest in Conine to help their anemic offense.
  7. Hollandsworth and Nunez will both be valuable pawns as Beinfest looks to improve the club for the Wildcard race. Their million dollar contracts can be included in a deal to help offset any additional payroll that might be added - i.e. Conine, Urbina, or Powell. How about Vlad Nunez, Wayne, Fox and Ungs for Urbina, Powell and cash? Doesn't Buck love Fox from his Diamondback & Yankee days? Lee and Hollandsworth for Conine and cash works for me also.
  8. You had me worried there for a second. I assumed your original comment was "tongue-in-cheek." Thanks for setting the record straight. Not sure why there was a prob with the Holly/Burrell comments. Perhaps a sensitive Phillie fan took exception?
  9. Long-time Lee fan (who suggested putting him in Jupiter for first-half of the season, waiting for his customary second-half rally). Arnie, were you serious about this?
  10. Malman replied to BIG Z's topic in Miami Marlins
I happened to watch the Reds v. Mets tonight. I do not want Adam Dunn. He is second to last in the NL with runners in scoring position - worse than even DLee. He has 23 HR's and but only 46 RBI's - not good. I'd take Guillen over Dunn in a heartbeat.
  11. I would add Beckett for sure. Maybe Looper too.
  12. Orlando is pathetic. He is a complete fool. He knows nothing about baseball. He should stick to the NFL.
  13. No, I'm looking for the dollar amount the FO is looking to stay around. Is it 40 million? 50 million? Any idea?
  14. What is our projected payroll for 2004?
  15. Klesko's contract isn't that bad. Granted we are talking about the Marlins - but if they could move Lee for DeRosa & Marquis and then trade Castillo for Klesko - we would save some money, improve our lineup, have an adequate option at second base and add some pitching depth. If they lock up Lowell we could be set at the corners for the next three years. Just a thought and probably some wishful thinking. :whistle
  16. I know Klesko isn't the perfect fit - but he looked damn good last night hitting a home run against LA. Also, he brings a lefty bat, he knows what it's like to win & be in a pennant race and I know he would love to kick some Brave a**!
  17. Well done. Excellent analysis!
  18. Congrats Arnie on the ridiculous post of the day. Martin hits his first home run on July 3rd and you're impressed??? For the DRays no less. Please. Gimme a freakin' break.
  19. Me too. We should have known better. A couple more feet last night - would have been nice.
  20. Dude, love the avatar!
  21. Great point Ross. Every team has "payroll dogs" - we should be happy that our largest is only for 1.5 million - how do you think the Mets feel paying Mo Vaughn each week?
  22. then f*** the mother f***ing reds cuz we aint gonna get crap damn those f***ers!!!!!!! Very articulate post. Keep up the good work. :thumbup
  23. Pick up a copy of Michael Lewis' - Moneyball. It's a behind the scenes look at Billy Beane and the rest of the Oakland A's front office. It should help to enlighten you a bit. :confused
