  3. Seriously odom...no offense...but you need to cut a little bit of the cursing out... I mean, it MAY make things easier to understand... Although you're pretty far off on some spellings (HATTA = Hater?) Hey, I've learned that dispite his spelling, Odom actually is pretty insightful, and smart. In a way... no, hes not too bright. Neither are you for that matter... why must you judge people? You think you are so smart, but you are a little boy. ODOM, stop watching BET... your posts make me dizzy For one, I am 14, but neither little nor a boy. Odom might not be able to write very well, but he mostly does know what he's talking about. Unlike some people (i.e. you). Don't pick fights with people. dis her be gittin good. Good to see you back ODOM, you make me laugh dude. I gotta agree with WC, you do make interesting points every now and then. It doesn't matter how you phrase it as long as we get the gist of it. Don't start falling on peoples jocks now Lowellover. Give it some time before you start bagging on people.

  5. Maybe its Balki Bartakomous. I always knew one day he would turn on cousin Admin. once again, I am jealous of that reference. :notworthy
  6. Wow, can I just say this is the worst thread ever.
  7. For the past 3 years I've gone to the Marlins v Dbacks series in Phoenix. It's an excellent stadium in the best part of downtown phoenix. Great bars surrounding the park and everything. Last year I saw Randy and Curt emabarass us as they swept but they won the WS that year so I didn't feel so bad. Preston bombed one out that I got a hand on but I lost it............................damn :banghead
  8. dumb da dumb dumb. Why don't we call him D-dubbly-doo-rite? That rolls off the tongue right? Ddub works fine for me :dkdance
  9. yeah, I'm pretty sure Dontrelle started throwing like crap because my wife popped a circuit breaker and the power went off in the house. As soon as the power was back on the delay was over (which I figured was due to me this time). I should leave her jinxing a$$ :shifty
  10. I'd just like to add that I am sick and tired of seeing Andy Fox CRUSH weak dribblers to the pitcher. Good glove and all but cmon! Swing it like a MAN already! :angry
  11. Beckett changes number, but luck? Pitcher trades No. 61 for 21 By KEVIN BAXTER kbaxter@herald.com All those kids who picked up Josh Beckett jerseys at Pro Player Stadium last month will be disappointed to hear that the Marlins right-hander has had a change of heart. Or, more precisely, a change of numbers. When Beckett takes the mound tonight against the Montreal Expos, he'll be wearing No. 21, marking the first time he has appeared in a major-league game without No. 61 on his back. But, contrary to popular belief, the change isn't a tribute to fellow Texan Roger Clemens -- who wears No. 22 these days anyway. ''I just wanted to change things up a little bit,'' he said. ``There really is no reason.'' Beckett proposed the change a few days ago, but the Marlins asked him to think about it. He did. And he still wanted to make the switch. No. 61 was a compromise in the first place. Beckett's preferred number is 19, but third baseman Mike Lowell has had that number since the right-hander broke into the majors two years ago. So Beckett turned the number upside down. Since he didn't figure to get No. 19 anytime soon -- ''I'm hoping they sign Mike Lowell to a five-year deal,'' Beckett said -- he decided not to wait. Besides, after four trips to the disabled list, Beckett is hoping to change his luck as well. He settled on No. 21, he said, because after rookie Miguel Cabrera claimed No. 20 last month, it was the closest one to 19 still available. ''Well, there is 18,'' he said. ``But I don't want to be 18.'' In any case, tonight's start is an important one for Beckett, who is 3-4 with a 3.86 ERA. He came off the DL 21 days ago -- there's that number again -- to hold the Atlanta Braves to no earned runs over six innings. But in his next start he was hit hard by the Chicago Cubs while struggling with the blister problems that kept him out for much of last season. The blister caused him to skip his last scheduled start before the All-Star break, during which he said it healed. Now he would like to heal the Marlins, who have lost two in a row for the first time in more than a month. ''It's my turn, and I've got to go out there and stop the bleeding,'' he said. ``You just want to go out there and help the team.'' lets hope it works
  12. Although I think Beckett will ROCK with his new #, I'm taking the man behind the plate. IROD should play since he got pulled yesterday. Bring the HEAT #21
  13. remember when they used to just sign stuff for ya.......for FREE???
  14. I went with Dlee. If he just stays on his yearly course of big second halfs that'll be great. Everybody else just keep doing what your doing
  15. so learning about players who may be in our future means we arent good fans? some of us like to look into the future and see who comes and goes but just because some of us like prospects doesnt mean we are any less of a fan agreed. I think since we've had a 3 day layoff we're all going a bit crazy. We need a GAME to talk about!
  16. JBurque replied to Johnny Reb's topic in Off-Topic
yes...as opposed to the fake ones. No...just plenty of people by lots of weed at a time. But, the fact still remains......what the heck, I dont even remember. This topic has gone of on a tangent, and I dont feel like looking through the thread to find out what everyone was saying...we're gonna need Johnny Reb to bring this thread back on track. How did it go off on a tangent? We're discussing the Pros and Cons of legalization. There are many factors to argue from both sides. Thats what makes it such a good debatable issue. Anyway, LEGALIZE, LEGALIZE
  17. I'm sure no one in baseball takes anything the Marlins say at face value. Why should they? We just have to have faith that the FO will be true to their word and build around Key players like Lowell
  18. Optimism eh? :mischief2 sounds made up to me.....
  19. Fillet o' Fish, you have not earned that right. This is a different front office than five years ago. They can not be blamed for old faults. These ones, and for going to 1-year deals they can be blamed for. They will at least attempt to sign Lee, Gonzalez, Lowell, Encarnacion, Willis, Redman, Pavano, Penny, Burnett, Spooneybarger, and Looper to long-term deals from 2-6 years that would ultimatey raise payroll for the time being, and save MILLIONS from years on while keeping us contenders. And in keeping us Contenders, they're bringing in fans who see the positive change. It has to be difficult to win over all the early marlins fans that turned their backs on the team after 97. This will ultimately lead to a new stadium which means more new fans which.......well, I don't know but it sounds GREAT
  20. Don't you think it would be a little naive to think that the articles that are selected to post on the official Marlins site would be completely unbiased and objective? It's a good article, but subscribing to the critical review and mid-term grade as purveyed in an article on the official site is a bit much. I'm not saying it is entirely objective, but it isn't a creation of MLB, but of a reporter hired by the MLB.com sites to write objective articles. Look at the Tigers or Devil Rays articles. :thumbup
  21. Getting a "B" for us is like a kid who skipped school everyday for a year getting a "B" on his final exam. :thumbup good job fish and good job by the media for recognizing accomplishments factually like they should
  22. Who knows if the Mets still want Neal? Maybe they are satisfied with what they got from the Yanks. They're looking at a good ol fashioned rebuilding process. Remember what thats like? They're looking for as much young pitching as they can get. They got 3 pretty good rightys from the yanks. One more wouldn't hurt if they can move Weathers, who'll be 34 this year.
  23. Lowell isn't going anywhere. The Front Office is moving to long term contracts this offseason. They need to if they want to be a real, contending, in it every year team. A couple guys signed long-term would give some assurance to the fans and the media we're not messing around.
