Is it possible..........
That somebody besides Justin Verlander can win ROY? if you look at it and there are a couple position players that have blossomed into everyday players. Melky Cabrera is hitting .294 for the Yankees with 7 HR, 40 RBI and about 10 outfield assists. Without a guy like him in the lineup the Yankees would have to use guys like Aaron Guiel and Bubba Crosby everyday, and who knows where they would be in the standings without the production and solid defense? Nick Markakis is another guy who just got his average above .300 and has been on a tear ever since June. He's also starting to hit a lot of homers, and has made only 1 error all year. I think that if Liriano comes back soon he'd have a better shot than Melky or Markakis, but the fact that Verlander is performing for the best team in baseball gives him the edge. I see the AL Voting as: 1. Verlander 2. Liriano 3. Cabrera 4. Markakis

MVP: Jeter or Ortiz?
Plus Jeter gets on nearly half the time with RISP. They don't call him captain clutch for nothing

What's the deal with Mitre?
Never impressed with him when he was in Chicago.

MVP: Jeter or Ortiz?
Well there's your answer for RBI numbers they're fairly even. .379 with RISP is unreal.

Who Should Be Our Ace For Next Year?
You can count on Johnson to keep you in a game even on a day he doesn't have his best stuff. The same can't be said about D-train.

Question
Can a pitcher win both ROY and CY Young? Just wondering if it were possible.

Ichiro Suzuki, just a thought
They have Johjima so I doubt Ichiro is going anywhere without him.

Peter Gammons attends Sox/Yankees game
Yeah I think he's a little biased for the Red Sox but he's a good guy and I enjoy hearing his opinions on the game.

Update: Glavine Could Pitch Next Week
Yeah Kip Wells had one earlier this year. Hopefully it wont be serious and he'll be back soon I've been rooting for him to win 300. I forgot about Oliver Perez. He should be called up because of his major league experience and he has the stuff to succeed at the major league level.

Update: Glavine Could Pitch Next Week
Wow that would be sad if it ends his career. This definitely doesn't help the Mets postseason chances. Sounds like Heilman or call up Pelfrey. John Maine's been awesome for them this year.

The Chase
I don't really like Cup Drivers in Busch either. It probably brings in a lot more $$$$ though.

"Take Back The Birds" day in Baltimore
They've been trying to do this for a very long time. All year fans on a site called orioleshangout have been planning billboards and protests that tell Angelos to sell the team. He's only in the business for money. The Orioles couldn't make a deal at the deadline because he was too worried about getting a TV contract for next year. He refuses to trade for any players that cost him more than a million it seems, and everything the GM's do is turned down by him in the end.

MVP: Jeter or Ortiz?
That's a good point Hermida #1 fan Jeter does so much more for the Yankees though. Clutch hits, stolen bases, diving plays to save games. I think that Ortiz is one of the best players in the game with the bat, but all around it has to be Jeter.

The Future is Bright in Kansas City
Those are some good numbers hope to see them in september callups They have nobody that can go deep except maybe Sweeney and Reggie Sanders. Young too that's a good sign

Cops: Teen posed as reporter at Mets games
In Orioles Spring Training security guards mistook Brandon Fahey (utility player) for the batboy.

MVP: Jeter or Ortiz?
I'm for DJ he can just do so many things for the Yankees. He has gone fairly unnoticed this year, and it's been by far one of his best seasons. Good glove, good pop, and a leader on the field, at the plate, and in the clubhouse.

Brett Favre Calls Impromtu Press Conference
That backup they got deserves a chance. It's been like two years i forgot his name he was from Cal i think.

The Chase
I think about a year ago Dale Jr. was the first guy a lap down and he spun himself around so he could be the lucky dog and go to the back of the field on the lead lap. He got fined but i've respected him ever since. I didn't see what happened can you describe it for me?

Canseco To Pitch Tommorrow
Let's see a 40+ year old man trying to pitch after blowing it out in the majors before in one innning......... It's probably harder, but just the thought of that is hilarious.

Pelicans Game
Yeah I love minor league baseball my friends think it's stupid but it's so much fun to watch these players develop in Major Leaguers. Going to Frederick Keys games I've scored autographs of Adam Loewen, Nick Markakis, and Chris Britton. I've got a lot of Orioles prospects it's so easy to get autographs in the minors. At the Pelicans games I only have 1 autograph from a SS named Diory Hernandez. He had an injury this year but looks like a solid prospect.

The Chase
You smoke too much. Burton will make the chase and contend for the championship. But as long as Johnson doesn't melt down in the next few weeks (which is still very possible), he'll win the cup. Hendrick guys and Kevin Harvick are the guys I root for. It's just suprising how quietly he's become one of the most consistent drivers in the circuit. Go Jimmie!
