Whatever logo we get, I hope it's a Green/Yellow/Blue mix, especially with a move away from teal. Something like that could set the palate for Miami, and work well here as well. If the Heat win a championship I can see them adding red in there somewhere to try to capture some of the marketing and hat sales.

Maybe he just wants to watch baseball in his town in a proper stadium. Back in 1998, Piazza's Dad, Tony Piazza I believe, wanted to buy parts of the Marlins along with a group-but was turned down for some reason (I think it was the fact Mike Piazza was a Dodgers and it conflicted, or the fact that he withdrew after Piazza was traded). Mike has been here since his college days at UM and MDCC-hopefully he can buy into or be a part of the front office in some role.

Yeah, I'm surprised hes so supportive. It looks like he's positioning himself to buy parts of a team, be it the Mets or his hometown Marlins. I would only assume so.

I've heard good things about lion safari, and also there is a public water park about 15 from the stadium in broward can't remember it's name. Really the last thing you want to do is drive endlessly around south Florida. What is it your really interested in doing. And ya, defiantly not into the chamber of tourism....all I'm good for is trolling like quagmire, and even that I haven't done in 4 or 5 years

I drive an 95 Acura integra. Rolling with style all the way. Ha Hockey's my other love and would like to see a panthers game but I'm ruining of going in august so that's out of the picture. I have a wide diverse set of hobbies. I wouldn't mind checking out some good sports memorabilia stores. Also enjoy music but not necessarily going to see a concert. I like model railroading and if there are any good museums or stores that specialize in the railroad that would be cool. Also thinking of checking out skully's bar , the one on diners drive ins and dives. I'm not looking to spend an ass load of money. Since it's short notice. I would rather spend more on the new stadium so I might just swing in and out and see the games. I'll be honest, your Integra may make it, but it depends on how you've taken care of it. How many miles are on it? If you could, check in with a local repair shop, and have them check out your tires, brakes, and if theres any leaks or loss of fluids. You may get lucky and see practice, which isn't that much farther then their arena. Good memorbillia stores are hard to find, but they do have a sports show every 1st weekend at Dania Beach (an hour away?). Other then that, good luck. Comic book stores are kinda plenty.

Hey guys, Once again if this is the wrong section please relocate. I have been debating about travelling down from North Carolina to watch a game in Sunlife before they leave the stadium. I was wanting to wait and go when the new stadium is done, but as crappy as everyone says Sunlife is, I still feel like I would miss out on the History of seeing a game there. I have never been to Miami and would be a like a duck out of water. Im thinking of staying somewhere near Sunlife since im there to see the games primarily. Here are my main priorites with the locations. -Safety of my Car and I -Location to other surrounding stops. -Toll Roads and their cost. And heres the questions I have. 1) I have heard the area around Sunlife isnt the greatest, safety wise. Do any of you recommend staying near the Stadium? If not where are some good areas to stay that wont put me an hour away from the games but also wont get me shot or robbed. 2) Just for an example so i have an idea, How long would it take to get from Sunlife to the New Marlins Ballpark. 3)How much coinage should I plan on bringing for tollroads if i have to venture on some. 4) What are some things to do in the surround area? I dont want to venture to far south and i dont really care much about the beach. I am also debating taking Amtrak down, What forms of public transportation will take me right to Sunlife without breaking the bank? Would it be easier to rent a car if i go that route? Now as far as the actually games go, I debating about going to a monday tuesday wed Series. I know i can probably get walk up tickets and avoid the Ticketmaster fees but im looking at getting an infield box seat on the 7.90 wednesdays. Is that a ticket i should order in advance? Your best bet to not get lost or confused too much is to stay at the Stadium's Primary Hotel, which is the Sports Palace or something like that. It's a open toll road, which means you either get their system of payment (Sunpass), or they will take a picture and charge you later through your license plate. In this case, they'll charge you about $1.00 each time you pass through it (you never stop, just drive or you'll cause an accident), and send you a bill in the mail with a service chharge (it just started this month, so I don't know how much). 4) What are some things to do in the surround area? If you come down in April or May, you may be able to see a Heat Game. Theres also Sawgrass Mills which is about 40 mins from the stadium on a bad day, and there are movie theatres, restaurants, and great shopping (about 200 stores?). Not only that, but if your down early enough, the Panthers play right across the street from sawgrass mills. me personally, theres nothing else. You could take your car, just don't lock any valuables in it. Parkign at sunlife is either $10 or $20, I'm not sure. What type of car do you normally drive?

Why does there seem to be so much space between the seats every 2 rows? is that just how the seats are going to be or will the put in another row there later? If that is how it will stay that is phenomenal because i need some damn room in between seats. Any pictures?

Be it the smell of the grass when you visited your first time, to the one creepy dude who you swear you bump into all the time at the Urinals (or Powder Rooms for you lady's.) One of my Best Memories is from 2008, when I went to see the Marlins and the Giants play on my 21st Birthday. By the 4th inning I was gone mentally (it was my 21st Birthday), but by the 9th inning I realized the woman I was with will be the one I marry. That day we had only dated for a few weeks, but we've been together ever since. Unfortunatly, I don't remember much of that evening---but I do know this---I wouldn't change it for the world. It has been home to two World Champions and countless rain delays in its 18 years of use but its real glory comes from within its concrete walls and spiral staircases. Built and funded originally by former Miami Dolphins owner Joe Robbie, Sun Life Stadium was constructed with two primary goals in mind; providing a state of the art Football Stadium for the soaring Miami Dolphins as a replacement to the ancient Orange Bowl and to serve as a final destination for Major League Baseball should one of their clubs look to relocate. Originally named after Joe Robbie himself (Joe Robbie Stadium), the stadium was built with the intention of being able to convert a section of seats into a retractable section and a slightly larger than normal grass surface to allow for a Major League Diamond. It was built and partially funded with spectacular club levels as well as executive suites that required advance payment from Long Term Miami Dolphins Season Ticket Holders due to the lack of government funding rarely seen these days outside of South Florida. Built on a piece of land in Miami Gardens, its primary focus for its first 5 years was to host football games. However, Robbie felt it was only a matter of time before Miami was seriously considered as a Major League market, and felt that with his concrete legacy’s ability to convert from Football to Soccer to Baseball in a matter of hours, would soon be the crown jewel of two major sports. In 1990 Wayne Huizenga purchased 50% of Joe Robbie Stadium, and announced plans to apply for a Major League Baseball expansion franchise. Within a year, Huizenga succeeded when it was announced that MLB would be adopting two National League clubs for the 1993 Season. By 1994 he had also succeeded in acquiring the other 50% of the stadium for 100% ownership. April 5th 1993’s first pitch strike by a then 45 year-old and Hialeah High School Grown Charlie Hough would serve as a sign of things to come for the stadium. Entering its 18th year as home to the Marlins, it has played host to World Series Champions, Milestones, Perfect Games, No Hitters and unprecedented seasons. During the 1995 Season, the Stadium played host to Miami’s own and Future Hall of Famer Andre Dawson’s Swan Song. One of the final images of Dawson’s career is of being driven around the outfield in a golf card waving to the tearful and enthusiastic crowd. The Following season in 1996, Al Leiter pitched the first No Hitter in Marlins against their expansion brother the Colorado Rockies. This feat has been accomplished three times during Sun Life Stadium’s history, once by then Rookie Anibal Sanchez against the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2006 and more recently by Philadelphia’s Cy Young Winner and Ace Roy Halladay during a perfect game last season in 2010. In 1997 during the Marlins 5th year at then Pro Player Stadium, the 95th World Series was played. Having clinched both the Wild Card and NL Pennant in their 5th season as an Expansion Franchise, the Marlins set a record as the youngest World Series competitor in MLB history. During Game 7 of what is considered by many to be one of the 20 greatest games ever played as Edgar Renteria drove home Craig Counsell for the Marlin’s third and final run in the bottom of the 11th inning to be crowned champions. That World Series is one of the highest attended in MLB history as it hosted consistently 67,000 fans and no empty seats for each of the 4 World Series games played there. In 2003, the Stadium once again played host to the postseason. One of the most memorable moments for any current fan is the game ending OF Assist by Jeff Conine to Ivan Rodriguez. In front of the stadium’s famous “Teal Monster�, Conine exhibited the professionalism and determination of that years Marlins. Led by World Series MVP Josh Beckett’s Arm and Conine’s leadership, the Marlin’s marched right onto the 100th World Series in history and eventually took down the New York Yankees. Since the 2003 Season, the “Hunt for Teal October� has been delayed however the Sun Life Stadium plays host to some of the games brightest stars. Perennial MVP candidate Shortstop Hanley Ramirez roams the infield, as Cy Young Finalist and 2002 Draft Pick Pitcher Josh Johnson routinely puts away the competition. In 2010, Johnson lead the National League with a 2.30 ERA, marking the second time an ERA Champion had been crowned due to the Stadiums expansive playing field. In 2011, look for the final season for the Marlins in Sun Life Stadium to be memorable as Ramirez, Johnson and the bat of Michael Stanton look to bring the house down in a blaze of glory. With a little luck the bat of Michael Stanton will turn the lights off during the 2011 World Series, marking a fitting end to one of MLB’s forgettable ballparks.

No interest in the jerseys or odd logos-- The Fish is great itself...maybe create an idenity based on the Marlin itself. The M logo in old english is great too---but it needs a Marlin surrounding it on the cap. Nice job overall, but too muddy of a idenity. The Marlins Might move to the Red/Blue/Yellow/Green color scheme were seeing on the stadium logo, create a idenity as that as well. They look good by themselves. Nice try though.

Alot of us feel the 1997 Firesale is probably the low point of our franchise (and I know our Irish friend didn't follow til 04).
