Prado, Gordon, the bullpen, Chen, Rojas, try to package a prospect and one of the bad contracts to clear salary like the Texans did with the Browns. They aren't great pieces, but teams would consider them upgrades and make moves for em. Grab some B/C prospects, hope one sticks. I think Chen can be worth something in return, to a team desperate for upgrades and would take a chance. Not a top 30 prospect from an organization but the money cleared is the real value.

Keep the outfield and the catcher, maybe bour- sell the rest. Those 5 can be a decent offense.

Realmutto, Stanton, Yelich, Gordon, Bour are five guys you build an offense around knowing they are locked up and wont skyrocket.

The goodwill will be completely lost- and they'd associate the jeter group with loria's. They cant even separate Huizinga, Henry and Loria. I think that's the issue here, they were concerned his delivery would be deemed illegal any day now and cut their losses. To take that out of his delivery will be a massive undertaking soon enough.

I don't know- 1.2 billion is a lot of money. If this was a 500m sale I'd understand. The team is already losing money. I'm sure there's agreements in place that allows someone else first crack at taking someone's stake if they want out. Its not like the expos of the 90's where loria made cash calls and everyone hung up. Im not concerned about the number of investors, and considering Mas kept trying to lower the bid from what I read I think this is the best case scenario. The whole baseball world will know we're under new ownership, and even casual fans and the "Today show" crowd. I think that's what MLB wanted most: didnt someone in here say Mas isn't respected in the Cuban community too?
