September 3, 20178 yr Considering the team has played well the past 3 months or so and Stanton has arguably become the best player in baseball in that span, how will you react when Jeter and company sell all the pieces in the offseason? Quit rooting for the team? Indifferent? Or happy because you think it's necessary?
September 3, 20178 yr My reaction will depend on who they trade and what they get back, but I'll still be a fan ofc
September 3, 20178 yr Trade and/or dump anyone but Stanton. Have a $40 million payroll if needed but $30 million goes to Stanton. If Stanton is gone I will be very upset.
September 3, 20178 yr Author Trade and/or dump anyone but Stanton. Have a $40 million payroll if needed but $30 million goes to Stanton. If Stanton is gone I will be very upset. I'd be more upset if this was the strategy. I don't care if Stanton hits 100 home runs if the team sucks. Having such a large percentage of payroll tied up to one player is a terrible idea.
September 3, 20178 yr This franchise keeps giving me reasons to quit on them but never would I be able to support another team.
September 3, 20178 yr Author Maybe quit in the baseball just like Admin, because it's enough… At least Wei-Yin Chen still has 3 years left.
September 3, 20178 yr I'd probably give up..... which is sad. Theres no legitimate baseball reason to break up a cost controlled core that has been one of the hottest in baseball and recordbreaking in the OF. Realmutto, Stanton, Yelich, Gordon, Bour are five guys you build an offense around knowing they are locked up and wont skyrocket.
September 3, 20178 yr With Chen having an opt out.... I hope the Marlins tell him he's going to be a reliever IF he's allowed back on the team, but they arent going to cut him..... so you might as well opt out if playing is important to you.

September 3, 20178 yr Being a reliever won't scare Chen. There's a chance it's actually a great change for him.
September 3, 20178 yr I'll react the way I've done for everyone of these they've held so far, Anger at first when they trade away guys that would be considered cornerstones of other organizations, secondly acceptance that the farm system is shit and they just don't have the horses to make a title run, finally hope that the new guys will push them to a championship. Basically wash, wear, repeat!! I love baseball and will hopefully fully vindicated when my Fish win it all againe
September 3, 20178 yr Author Being a reliever won't scare Chen. There's a chance it's actually a great change for him. Chen won't be in the bullpen next year. Marlins won't be paying all those millions to a bullpen arm.
September 3, 20178 yr Chen won't be in the bullpen next year. Marlins won't be paying all those millions to a bullpen arm. I know but he'll be one this month so I was reacting to Piazzas post based on that
September 3, 20178 yr I can't say that I would be completely done. I've followed baseball since I was 8 years old. It's been a part of my life since I can remember having memories. I was a Cardinals fan until the Marlins came along. I think if anything I would just become a casual fan. Instead of watching and following every night I will probably just occasionally check up on them on the internet. I was really patient because there wasn't a stadium deal before. The stadium was supposed to be our saving grace and I really bought into that. Now it's the bad TV deal. It will always be something. Trading away Cabrera was difficult but again I held out hope for a stadium deal. Not this time
September 3, 20178 yr My reaction will depend on who they trade and what they get back, but I'll still be a fan ofc This will be my reaction too. I'll have faith they'll also do a better job than Hill on returns. (who, pray tell could do worse ?)
September 3, 20178 yr I'll have faith they'll also do a better job than Hill on returns. I don't. Jeter doesn't give two shits about sabermetrics, or stats in general. winning 4 Gold Gloves in seasons with a negative dWAR will do that.
September 3, 20178 yr I don't. Jeter doesn't give two shits about sabermetrics, or stats in general. winning 4 Gold Gloves in seasons with a negative dWAR will do that. Wow....might as well keep Loria.....geeesh
September 3, 20178 yr I will always be a fan and I believe it's normal for a new ownership to come in and want to straighten things out but in the long run it will be a great idea unless there are fake fans out there who are just going to jump ship because of them slashing payroll. It has to be done to strengthen our farm system because we do have the worst Farm in baseball. I love that Jeter bought the team this is good for Miami and I don't see a better owner than him and I see players wanting to play for him.
September 3, 20178 yr Since the goal would be to shed payroll, don't expect good returns prospect wise. Did I say anything also about immediate impact players ? Payroll should be stabilized by the time the prospects make it to the bigs
September 3, 20178 yr Jorge Mas would have likely been a better owner seeing as Jeter is a fake owner anyway. Invested 25 mil but will be paid 5 mil a year plus a company credit card and travel expenses. Damn dude, did you eat something sour for lunch ? Man you have so much negative energy
September 3, 20178 yr Did I say something inaccurate there? Correct me if I'm wrong but you're the one who referred to me as an immature trolling moron a few minutes ago. No wonder not that much activity on Marlin's boards with people like this posting. Just chill bro.
