  1. Sources state the Braves will begin to unload payroll. I guess they are throwing in the towel, let's see.
  2. Who cares what Sid Rosenberg has to say? Come to think of it, why should anyone care what Tommy Hutton said? It had zero effect on what happened on the field.....besides, it's a Marlins broadcast. If you want to hear pro-NY sentiment, listen to the Mets announcers. My point exactly, Sid seems to forget Tommy is part of the MARLINS BROADCAST NETWORK. Now if the game is on ESPN, Fox, or TBS, then it should be unbiased just the facts play calling.
  3. This whiner is going on and on about Tommy Hutton's comment last night. I personally found it funny when Tommy referred to the Mets fans leaving in the eighth as "front runners". Every other team is allowed biased announcers, but I guess as Marlins fans we are required to only have neutral or worse ones that root against us. I think is true colors are coming out. All season he has been saying that he supports both the Mets and Marlins which I really don't see how one can since we are in the same division.
  4. Awesome effort to take game run. Cody was the MVP. Andino though seems to come through against the Mutts.
  5. We will win this series! I give it a 60% chance that we can sweep it as well. It's time for the Mets annual collapse.
  6. Cub fans are bitter people who blame some goofy guy in the stands for their teams historic collapse against a better team in 03. They also blame a stupid Billy goat. What I wouldn't give to knock those douche bags out of the playoffs again. I would like to win the next three beginning today. If that happens, I predict a tailspin with the Cubs missing the playoffs. That will even be better. In fact, I am going to predict that Uggs is a big part of making it happen. GO MARLINS!
  7. Actually we are in better shape this year. Two back in the division as of today.
  8. I have a decal in the back window of my truck, and I have a banner flag in front of my house.
  9. That was a great collective effort tonight. This is what winning teams do! Way to go Fish!
  10. I just got back today from the two games I went down for. If i don't stay with a buddy in Margate, I usually get a hotel on Stirling Rd. in Hollywood. Good rates, nice areal and close to the HardRock without paying the prices they want on weekends. I get to the stadium in 15 minutes. Saturday was great. I took in some racing action at Calder, then headed to the game across the street.
  11. I was there for Friday and Saturday's games. Very good crowd compared to what we normally get.
  12. OK. Is there any way someone could mass produce flyers that say "We want baseball!"? I will be going to Friday's game, but does anyone think Saturday's game will be more packed? Let's figure that out first. Looking a little farther forward, people should gather at Gate H. Someone needs to get a hold of news stations and let them know what is going on. By the way, we also need a little more support on this board, AND we need someone, or a group of people to get in touch with big groups of people who don't have access to this site. Saturday would be the better day. National TV exposure regardless of the actual attendance figures.
  13. Bring him back even if for middle inning relief and at bats. Although his bat could also be rust since he has been in the AL where they do not even take batting practice.
  14. I am coming down for both Friday and Saturday's games. Let me know where y'all want to meet at the stadium. I am in for this.
  15. Compliance Officer for Financial Services firm.
  16. I moved here from the northeast because of the low cost of living, less hustle bustle and the weather....after 12 yrs now its one out of 3..... at least I have the weather, if i wanted to sit in traffic I would have stayed up north and damn if it doesn;t cost alot to live here....with comparison to wages our cost of living is higher than NYC,,,, Central and North Florida have a lower cost of living, moving into the large metro doesn't ease the pressure. The NE is different because its so full, nd thats how South Florida is becoming. I do not know exact details, but is it much cheaper to live north/central? Yes, you can get more for less up here when it comes to housing prices. Even with the housing bubble bursting, y'all still have a factor that is causing problems. There are too many people that can sell a home in the NE and purchase an over-valued home in S. Florida for a lot less than in the NE. A large population of retirees also hurts your salaries as well. Many retirees down there are willing to work limited hours at a job, not require benefits, and not care if they are underpaid for their skills. They just see the few hours a week as spending money for gas and the slot machines. It hurts the true work force that needs a full time job with full medical benefits for their family. I love South Florida; I am actually a native to PBC. I would move down there if the opportunity arose, but in the current market conditions my standard of living would decline. Jacksonville just works better for someone in the financial services industry.
  17. whats said was in the wazzu post the other day they were saying the Nationals only average 9,000 fans a night on TV!!!! That is horrible, I feel so bad for that franchise. It's still a lot better than when they were the Expos :mischief

The Mutts are a total media darling. I have a clown Dan Hicken up here on JVille Sports Radio that is a Mutts fan. Weeks ago he did not even talk baseball, now he talking division championship. A lot of Mutts fans coming out of the woodwork on 790 AM as well. They will choke guaranteed.
  20. :lol @ Tampa being the 2nd best sports town in America. I really hope these Rays fans aren't going to start being cocky like this. Oh they will believe me. Their bandwagon is already making its way up here too. :banghead It's hard to find Marlins stuff here. I find plenty of Rays, Red Sox, Yankees, Braves, and sometimes Mets and Phillies stuff, but rarely any Marlins. I agree. I had to order my authentic Hanley Ramirez jersey online because no one locally stocks Marlins authentics. Dick's Sporting Goods though over in the St. Johns Towncenter has a pretty good selection of Marlins shirts / caps. Football Fanatics though nothing but Yankees and Redsox. I am so sick of both of them.
  21. Anyone but Rabelo. I have posted before he is not major league material behind the plate, and his bat is weak.

  23. 3. Miami (Worst) The Marlins are a nice little story, but you have to sit in a football stadium to watch them. After that, not only are the Miami teams bad -- they're baaaad. The NHL Panthers haven't made the playoffs in eight years and haven't won a playoff game since 1997. Meantime, the Dolphins and Heat combined to go 16-82 in their most recent seasons. What is so bad about the article? It is true. Right now we are a nice little story. We are 1 1/2 back as of today because we are in a weak division. The rest of the stats are true. As for Tampa, the Rays really are a true contender with the best record in baseball right now, and they did take 5 of 6 from us. Tampa also does a better job of recognizing regional teams as their own than South Florida does. For example, when I go down there it is just like Jax and Orlando when it comes to supporting the Gators. Miami prefers to isolate themselves more from other Florida teams.
  24. Go Sox! I agree dude. This new Rays bandwagon is starting to really become annoying. I knew it would.
  25. It proved to be the game winning hit. A great way for someone else on the team to step up with Uggs out of the line up. Now on to the Rockies where hopefully th ethin air will help our bats. Go Fish :thumbup
