  1. I don't think Texas wants to give up Olt for JJ, even if they're desperate.
  2. Are there any talks with Toronto? Are they offering d'Arnaud?
  3. Guys hate to say it but, you can forget about Olt/Perez. Mods might as well close the thread.
  4. ^ excellent point...it's probably someone you wouldn't expect like a Giancarlo or Hayes I figure that it has do be someone here atleast since 2010. Wasn't Stanton up during the booting ball incident? It was after the Super 2 ish, which was sometime around June '10
  5. ^ excellent point...it's probably someone you wouldn't expect like a Giancarlo or Hayes Nah...Stanton doesn't have that douchey personality. He's like the polar opposite of LoMo.
  6. Buck is a great clubhouse guy, he's like the Shane Battier of the Marlins.

  8. Its called sarcasm
  9. Yelich needs to be in Jacksonville right now. He has produced on every level; why is he still in Jupiter? Jacksonville will be the real test, but I have a feeling that Marlins are scared that Yelich'll rake there right away if moved now and the Marlins wouldn't know what to do with him by the end of the season, so they're slowing his promotion, regardless of performance
  10. why was the game shortened?
  11. I'm all for going after Soler as long as we extend Stanton first.
  12. So guys, lets talk more about the awesomeness of Giancarlo while we wait...
  13. The gam I fear this game might get called any time now The game has to go a full 5 inning to be called, unless you mean postponed... Just 5 top halves if the home team is leading. =/ Theres a reason I say "full" :exercise

  15. wow, Stantons getting alot of media coverage... Vote for your favorite May walkoff http://mlb.mlb.com/v...pic_id=28898650 Also, Mane man for May... http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?topic_id=29636982#
  16. I think Stanton will get to 100 HR by the end of the season, which will make him the 4th youngest ever to 100 HR behind Mel Ott, Tony Conigliaro, and Eddie Matthews.
  17. As great of a season Stanton is having, he is still nowhere near his potential, at least as a polished hitter. Josh Hamilton has comparable contact and plate discipline in general. But, what differs greatly between Stanton and Hamilton, is that Hamilton has a marginally better contact rate outside the zone than Stanton. So, Stanton has to be alot more selective with his pitches than Hamilton. His contact rate in general is still mediocre and hasn't changed much from his rookie season. So expect his rate stats to drop over the course of the season. We're looking at a line of probably: .275 AVG | .360 OBP | .560 SLG | .920 OPS ...by the end of the season. His ISO will increase due to his low GB rate this season and also expect a slight increase in K%.
  18. I know he's currently hitting over .300 but do you guys see him keeping it up over say .285-.290 for the season or do you expect a drop? If he keeps his K% 22-24%ish, then yes. He can be a consistent .280+ hitter. He has an extremely high LD rate this season at 26% and his GB rate has gone down about 11% from last season. His BABIP has virtually stayed the same, despite the increase in AVG from last season. Those are good signs. He is smoking every ball nowadays towards left/left-center, and if he can continue this May tear onward to 2 of the next 4 months of baseball left, dare I say we might be talking MVP candidate come October?
  19. 31 HOMERS LEFT TO 100 CAREER HOMERUNS...
  20. The K% is going down every season: 2010: 31%+ 2011: 27%+ 2012: 22%+ (currently) His GB rate has decreased, LD rate increased. You can tell he changed his hitting mechanics if you compare his stance from then rookie Stanton, to now. Mallee did a great job. 21 extra base hits (and counting) in May alone.
  21. Stanton currently has 67 career HRs...needs 33 more this season to reach 100 career HRs. would be the 4th youngest in MLB history to do so behind Mel Ott, Eddie Matthews, and Tony Conigliaro That would be 44. I believe in Stanton. I'M STARTING THE COUNTDOWN... 32 HOMERS LEFT
