Banks To Announce Retirement

 

Brian Banks

August 20, 2004 - Isotopes outfielder Brian Banks will be retiring from professional baseball following tonight's game against the Omaha Royals.

 

Banks played 12 seasons in professional baseball, reaching the Majors with Milwaukee (96-99) and Florida (02-03). He hit .246 in 273 games with 13 HR and 64 RBI in the Majors, winning a World Series with Florida in 2003. Banks was a second round draft pick of the Milwaukee Brewers in 1993.

 

He hit .326 with 6 HR and 30 RBI in 66 games before Friday?s final game.

Definitley. It's safe to say that game against Atlanta last September defined his career.

Thought he could have put up some pretty fair numbers if he started an entire season somewhere...

Sad to see you go Banky. Your and Mordi were my favorite bench players last year.

I don't think the Banker is done with Baseball, nor Baseball done with him. I see a few years coaching (in the Minors) then bigger things.
