Rich Waltz showed no emotion tonight, not even on Bump's clutch DP... well actually i'm wrong, he did show emotion and it was on Admin's blast to straight away center field like he was calling the game for the Braves.

He should go work for TBS.

who really gives a hell

grow up money ball. put it on mute and listen to the radio.

His lack of emotion cost us the game. :plain

Let's talk about how we only manage to score 1 run in 13 innings and not about whether or not we like the new announcer.

Believe me, i'd love to put it on mute and listen to DVH and Roxy on the radio, but it's impossible because i've got DirecTV and there's like a 20 second delay between the radio and the TV.

well guess what, bitching about a damn broadcaster is pathetic. get over it.

No I ain't gonna shut up. I was on the fence with this guy. But tonight I officially put him in the doghouse. When you are new to a fanbase the last thing you wanna do is piss them off with pro-enemy team calls and that's what he did tonight.

He shows no emotion because he's doing the PBP for the wrong team.

Your avatar looks like Rich Waltz when he is looking at Tommy during the pre-game.

LOL, I was thinking the same thing when he was looking at Tommy, that was pretty creepy :lol :lol .

This is baseball and the voice of a team is a very important thing. If you can't realize that, it's not my problem.

I thought he was alright. I'll reserve my judgement until the end of the year when I've had a full season to listen to him and give him a chance.

Exactly.

I ain't blaming him for the loss I just don't remotely like him anymore. He shows what brilliance he might have when the other team hits. It's like watching ESPN or TBS.

explain to me how it is important?

lol, if you care so much about a guy who is in his 2nd game as the announcer, you have some problems.

But that's what I've come to expect out of you accord.

most of you probably dont remember Kasper when he first got here(still in diapers and such)

but he flat out sucked too... give him a few months

jeez you guys jump off anf on bandwagons like no other

It makes the viewing experience that much better. Listen to a playoff game called by Brennaman(sp?) and one done by Buck, huge difference. It's bad enough the opposing team is beating you but you don't need a PBP guy rubbing it in your face as well.

If the announcer is a significant factor in how much you enjoy the game then there is something wrong. Watch the game too watch the game, not too be worried about what the announcer does and doesn't say.

I'm not sure about the point your trying to make with the rubbing it in your face thing, I don't think Waltz was rubbing it in the faces of marlins fans when we were losing.

Yea, but this guy was supposed to be great.

Wasn't he on ESPN at some point?

He f***ing blows.

Waltz has definitely improved from the first ST game. He was doing alright.

Of course it's tough to replace Len. Give him more time.

When Len first started, I hated his unique voice but after a while it grew on me. However, when other teams hit a home run off the Marlins or something, his tone of voice and everything about him just changed to great disappointment, unlike Rich Waltz who made it seem like he was actually happy that Chipper blasted a homer to straight away centerfield.

I'm sure Rich Waltz will eventually grow on me, but I don't think any of us will like him to the same degree that we all loved Len.
