April 7, 200521 yr People are right that there is something wrong with our announcing team.? But the problem is with Tommy Hutton.? The guy is idiot.? If you have any baseball knowledge, he has nothing of worth to add.? He is not funny or charming, and has the intellect of a retarded child.? For the most part, play-by-play guys are a dime a dozen; it is somewhat difficult to find a color man.? And in my mind, T Hutt just doesn't cut it.? If the color man is an ex-ballplayer, I want to hear about things that go on during the game with players and strategy that a fan doesn't know about.? A couple examples of people who do this are Joe Morgan and Al Leiter (from the 2003 NLCS).? What Al says as he breaks down an at-bat, you wouldn't know unless you played the game.? But Hutton, his analysis is worthless drivel.? Well... at least Jeff Brantley doesn't announce our games.? I lose all faith in the game...well humanity... when I listen to that guy. 732359 If you think T-Hut has the intellect of a retarded child, I can't imagine what you think of Tim McCarver. Either way, saying Tommy is an idiot and adds nothing to the broadcast is just totally absurd and I can guarantee you that virtually all Marlins fans will disagree with you. 732369 I agree. If anything, Tommy Hutton is the better play-by-play man. Stop whining, theyre what we have. Get used to it.
April 7, 200521 yr Maybe they should use it in there new "Go to the park" commercials... "Rich Waltz Sucks" "Maybe we should go to the game Stu" Jp... but i really don't think he's that bad just not used to him...
April 7, 200521 yr Once again, I wound up muting the TV and listening to the Radio. I like DVH and ROXY BERNSTEIN has really turned it up a big notch! They really complement each other. Different voices and styles. They work together.

April 7, 200521 yr Rich will be fine. Gotta give them a few weeks to really start to learn to play off one another correctly. Even with the Astros, it will take a few games for the Bills to get re-acquanted with Admin Dierker.
April 7, 200521 yr Speaking of the 'Stros, how do you like their radio team, Das? I was listening to them through XM yesterday and the two barely ever acknowledge that the other has said anything.

April 7, 200521 yr i got a gut feeling that tommy hutton doesnt like rich waltz or is it just me? 732746 probably just you
April 7, 200521 yr I dont think he's that bad. But I agree with everyone else, his stare at Tommy is a little creepy. He's no len, but good.
April 7, 200521 yr Author i got a gut feeling that tommy hutton doesnt like rich waltz or is it just me? 732746 It seemed like he ignored half of what Rich Waltz said.
April 7, 200521 yr Author his stare at Tommy is a little creepy 732783 I thought I was one of the only people that noticed how creepy that was :lol .
April 8, 200521 yr I love Tivo :thumbup . 732806 Hey that does look like my avatar. When I first saw him do that I automatically remembered my avatar and something a poster said before.
April 8, 200521 yr Waltz iz weird Did you hear him when he called Cabrera's dropped ball? Again, he sounded excited about the error in Atlanta's favor... :/
April 8, 200521 yr Waltz iz weird Did you hear him when he called Cabrera's dropped ball? Again, he sounded excited about the error in Atlanta's favor... :/ 733424 He's got an enfactuation with a couple Brave players. It has me questioning his sexuality.
April 8, 200521 yr Too many posts to read them all on this thread, but I agree with Accord where he mentions Waltz's excitement about Chipper's homer last night - how obnoxious - in addition to that, it seemed to me that he raved about Chipper far too much in tonight's broadcast - talking about his base running, his batting average as a switch-hitter, his greatness, his everything else........overkill anyone???? Sounds to me like he may be a Braves fan......ok - maybe I am exaggerating, but he DEFINITELY doesn't sound like a Marlins fan with his call of the game. I don't care for his voice. I have NEVER been a fan of Dave Van Horne, but I find that I am clicking to radio and just looking at the TV - Waltz should be doing golf. He is so boring and I just can't get used to it. Yes, it's early, but he just doesn't have it. Sorry! About Jon Miller - he is excited for both teams when he announces because he is not a particular team's announcer. I want the guys who do our 162 Marlins games to be rooting very OBVIOUSLY for the "good guys" - that is the way it's done.
April 8, 200521 yr I love Tivo :thumbup . 732806 :lol :lol :lol 733526 :lol :plain
April 8, 200521 yr i got a gut feeling that tommy hutton doesnt like rich waltz or is it just me? 732746 Doesn't seem like he likes him at all. He's downright rude to him sometimes.
